PDMG DC-6 Did they fix the fps issue.

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I really, really love the look and feel of the PDMG DC-6. However, from what I read and saw from many reviews, it is quite a FPS eater. But those reviews are mostly a year old. For those who bought the plane, did the updates addressed this?

I love the aircraft, I really do. But if it gonna cost me 10-20 fps to fly it and I start seeing stuttering ...than it's a no go.

Would love to hear from those who have it!

Thanks

Did they fix it, No!.

If I use Dev Mode and enable Nano-VG from the drop down list of options I achieve remarkable performance with the PMDG DC-6.

If I don’t use it this way I find the DC-6 unusable. Just a constant stuttering mess.

Now the big question is, will they fix it without having to activate some option on the dev menu?

Other thing like the simplified autopilot on-off can only properly activated and disactivated with the Z key on the keyboard, they told me that with the joystick it could not work. No issue with the 737

Hmm, I actually don't have any performance problems with the DC-6 on my system. It flies very smoothly for me, no stuttering, no CTD's. The only problem I experience is sometimes when I create a flight plan via the MSFS flight planner, the flight does not load into the GPS (a default Asobo GPS) properly. But, that is an intermittent problem that only happens now and then. Otherwise, the DC-6 performs well for me.

No perf issue with the PMDG DC-6 on my end, always smooth flying, panning and whatnots with my not-too-shabby-yet-nothing-spectacular system:

Same here Gents,

No performance issues with PMDG DC-6 with the vintage system below.

Happy flying,

Zero performance problems with the DC-6 here and my system is a geriatric i7-2700k/1660ti

Same, no problem for me and my system is old, I7-7700K/GTX1080Ti/32Gb ram @4K res.

strange but i have no issues, i do not use Dev mode and DC6 is smooth and stutter free on my mid level machine

Performance seems good for me as well. I have been neglecting the DC-6 for the 737 lately though. Dev mode is off.

Intel Core i5-12600k, Nvidia RTX 4070 Super, 128 Gigs.

Same here... never had any perf problems with the DC6 and on a medium rig too. No dev mode.

Cheers

Same for me. No performance issues.

No problems performance-wise here. The DC-6 is one of my all-time favourite flight sim aircraft, and I hope PMDG do more of the vintage stuff.

Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting.

I've never had performance issues with the DC-6 either.  And I've flown her while painting her...having Photoshop 2022 open at the same time (which is a resource hog!)

In fact I was touching up a few things on this paint just the other day when I grew weary of all the virtual JP smell and needed the smell of some Avgas and burnt oil in my nose, hehe
