Navigraph or Not?

Featured Replies

I often thought about getting a Navigraph subscription for the sim integration it offers but always defer because the charts I need are available on SkyVector or AirNav.  Actually I prefer to view the charts on my browser because they are scaled up so I can easily read them.

Besides that they are free!  😊

Any other takes on the subject?

A little while back, 8 months or so ago I had a subscription to navigraph, I since cancelled and have been using free online charts from wherever I can get them. I do miss the ease of navigraph and how intuitive the program is, so I’m actually thinking about renewing my subscription.

It sounds like your happy with your current way of charts, but you can subscribe monthly, perhaps pay for a months subscription and try it out, if you don’t like it you can always cancel, which was very easy to cancel. At least back then you were able to sub monthly, not sure it’s still the same but I’d imagine it is.

Cheers!

Don’t think I could manage without navigraph, use it on every flight. Mostly to have easy access to charts worldwide. But the navigraph software has a lot of neat features that makes flight planning a breeze. Also great to be able to access charts from the desktop, tablet and the in-sim toolbar.

Navigraph is probably one the most valuable things I pay for in flight simulation. I couldn't fly without it.

I have got that used to it's ease of use and integration in a lot of the aircraft i use, i would probably be lost without it.

Spent many years only updating NavData once in a blue moon and avoiding Charts entirely.

Now using both products and don't begrudge paying Navigraph for either.

I'll echo the folks here, I pay for the yearly sub which works out to less than $8 a month. I get charts in my browser, in sim, in sim aircrafts tablet, updated navdata across all aircraft, sims, utilities and simbrief. Flying regularly its made sim life a whole lot easier with things in a central location instead of having to get the same result across different sites and excess searching. A worthy investment in my eyes.

I do wish navigraph was more comprehensive.  If it would integrate VFR charts and weather then it would be perfect.

I agree, but the price wouldn't be the same.

I've been using Navigraph for a few years now and not once have I thought - "is this really worth the money?"

I get more out of my Navigraph subscription than I do my Netflix subscription, eventhough I only pay 4 euro for the 4k package with the latter.

The ease of use, the ability to just type in an ICAO and get all the charts I need and that are up to date. Also the nav data updates which are seldomly updated with addon aircraft.

That's me, and for airline routes it's all I've needed.  I would like a primer on how to use Charts can you recommend any?  I'm starting to think about this to get back lower to the ground where MSFS' scenery shines.  I use FSCaptain and now A Pilot's Life v2 and they are focused mostly on commercial airliners so I don't partake in the big piece of MSFS.

Cheers

I have a full annual subscription but rarely use the charts.  I got it almost solely for the database.  This connects SimBrief, Pilot2ATC and MSFS to a single, common and current database.  For me, that is the power of the purchase.

Have to say I agree, I have the annual subscription and cost-per-use is so low it's very much worth it. I don't think I could fly without all the above mentioned advantages now.

I even find things new each time I use it -- eg I only found the normal moving map recently (like google map) which helps you work out where you are sometimes.
