I thought you travelled by trawler friend.  Remember, the seagulls always follow the trawler!

Going back to the video, do you think that the problem might be that some people view it in HDR and think it is fine, but people like me with only SDR find it too dark and dull?

Yes for the moment it is you who is the seagull as long as I throw you food.

I sincerely believe that the representation of live weather as a whole, variety of clouds, number of cloud layers, haze, fog, . the color, the shadows, the light are completely missed for a natural global representation. HDR or not 720p or 8k.

I am unable to find it, I googled beta drivers and the webpage for that is all sorts of messed up

Agreed. It looks like they mothballed the beta site some months ago based upon the date stamps. Sorry for the bum steer.

You keep sincerely believing that then (the "GTA" and "completely missed" comments surely makes your arguments all the more convincing lol) ... and we'll keep sincerely believing that MSFS has the best lighting, atmospherics, weather, clouds, haze, fog, and overall globe/earth representation of any flight sims current and prior, entirely in a league of its own :))

For me and i must be the only one.

I don't find that convincing at all. the clouds, their representations. The general color. The overall luminosity, the shadows create for me an imbalance that takes us away from the natural aspect. Too dark, too black, washed out. undeniable effect "GTA" .

Lamentably, I have to agree. Although I think they’re doing great work in SU10 with shaping, there’s still something about the colouring and light interaction that’s off. Definitely not as revolutionary as pre-SU5.

I was confused also...i thought that i was on different forum ( from other flight sim).

Believe in what you want. It's beautiful to watch.

I'm going to tell you again without any modesty. MSFS is only beautiful but completely unbalanced.

Everyone is going to love this update, it brings so much more stability to the sim and improves it substantially.

On a side note - I have tried editing trees with the SDK and I am having issues with loading up a saved build (always getting an error when attempting to load). Is this because I was using the Beta or is it a further issue on my behalf?

Umm, sure :)

Nvidia just posted an updated Studio Driver moments ago: https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/193235/en-us/

However, the release notes state that this Studio Driver (as opposed to their Game-Ready driver) must be run under DX10 or DX11. But I'm hopeful that this updated Studio-Driver foreshadows an updated Game-Ready driver as well.

Thank you for the update, I inquired earlier in this thread if a game day driver would be available, but apparently the thread was hijacked by any dog that barks.

That DX10/11 limitation only applies to 3D Compatibility Mode, which is not used by MSFS.

Under “fixed issues”  the driver notes specifically mentions

[DX12][Flight Simulator] Potential image corruption [3722516]

I have to generally agree with this and have so hoped from initial release Asobo would make substantial improvements.  In fact initially I thought it was really in the realm of fine-tuning to get it to very serviceable.  But it needs major work now and it is the most glaringly off part of MSFS because it's so pervasive, so a huge part of sim-time.  We all know ATC and AI traffic management needs lots of work but they pale in comparison to clouds and weather. This being said it can look very convincing--mostly from a distance, unfortunately!  Definite downturn from initial release.  And the weird part:  I was running this on an RTX 2070 Super 8Gb VRAM back then.  I ran clouds on Ultra almost always though certain types of thin diffuse clouds/fog could really stress the GPU so would temporarily drop down to High.   So really it was quite well handled even w/ that hardware.
