Aerosoft showcases EFB on A330

You could also save the money for FSIPanel and just slew yourself back onto the approach. Works pretty fine and enables you to do many landings in a short time. Of course this is all about flight path, speed and flare; you wouldn't care about correct procedures like lights, spoilers etc.

True. I can also use the panel save to set myself up for short hops of two close airports also.

Its Aerosoft, it is not going to be anything special. Not on a level of PMDG, Fenix, or Leonardo anyways. It will get you there from point A to point B just like Salty and Heavy division does for the modded default 787 and 747.

Most people don't want this or need it..

Those are more sellers as the Study level ons, that is for shure..

cheers 😉

I don't think PMDG have any issues selling their products that are labeled "study level". I just don't see the "majority" on Xbox or clould service with any interest than anything other than default aircraft either now that the avionics makes them more usable. Will the AS a330 sell well? P.C. sure, now lets see how they handle customer service when the complaints come out when they can't get lnav/vnav to work. LOL.

Will it be as good as a Fenix or PMDG or FSL?

Of course not but the points are:

* PMDG can't make all aircrafts available IRL and probably will never make all Boeing, so let's not talk about airbus.

* FENIX is nice but after a good start, they are really quiet for some valid reasons. We are still waiting for the promised IAE variant, so even an A319/A321 or A32X NEO is in jeopardy. So let's not talk about an A330.

* FSL. Well, we still have to see something from them in msfs. Will they start with an A330 instead of their famous A320? Could be but considering their development time, it could be months or years before seeing something.

So even if this Aerosoft A330 is not 100% study level, it will have a great success and be enough good for most to us. And this will be the only available option anyways.

Heck, if even Captain Scam can sell thousands copies of their 777 and 767, no doubt that the Aerosoft A330 will be a huge success.

New pics from Aerosoft Forum, looking good:

As illustrations for an interview for Blu XPerience, I did yesterday (link to follow) I had to make some new images. As I had to start a test flight from Brussels to New York anyway I decided to share some images of me setting up this flight.

First some images of the cockpit modeling. They are made from my 5120x1440 screen (I could not recommend this more to people who are into sims, your eyes are made for a landscape view), so they are widescreen. Click and click again to see full detail.

A lot of the work to prepare for a flight is done via the EFB of course.

The guys at Blue Games were also very interested in our e-Manual, and right they are, it is pretty important we believe a paper (duh PDF) manual is not what is needed at this moment. While we will provide an old-style manual, the e-Manual is where you want to start. It simply makes it easier. Text, sounds, images, video, it is all there.

Note it is NOT just checklists but also flows. And flows are WAY more important. Flows are what you do, Checklists check if it has been done.

Norman and Caleb of Blu XPerience are seriously nice guys, could not recommend their channel more. They have a relaxed attitude towards simulations which I think is key to enjoying it.

When the interview is up I will add a link.

Wow,

people can rightfully so dig at Aerosoft for a number of things but they really are going all in on usability and accessibility here.

If they keep at least the same level as their P3D version (and enable in-flight de-fueling*), it will be enough for me. I'll be buying.

*By default it's not supported, but I managed to do it on my own. Now I can enjoy longhauls and the challenge of heavy takeoffs without bothering with cruise or overweight landings.

I wonder if the EFB will support Navigraph as I think Aerosoft have their own chart setup.

Will this thing fall out of the sky if your framerate drops below a certain number?

From July last year from Mathijs himself:

Charts on EFB, will support NavDataPro and Navigraph.

I flew the Aerosoft Airbuses for hundreds of hours in P3D and never once fell out of the sky due to framerate drops. They all have some issues but, in my case, falling out of the sky wasn't one of them.

I'll be buying the A330 as soon as it goes on sale.

Want an A330 very bad, but not Aerosoft bad.

I wanted a CRJ very bad, and went for the Aerosoft one, which I regret to this day...

Man I hope not, Thea was a mind bogglingly bizarre trait of the P3D version.

If the Aerosoft A330 is at least as functional as the Headwind A330, I'll be happy and I will commit money to it.  It makes a larger variety of airlines available to fly.  Visually, it looks good.
