OMG Ryan...straight out of the blocks...

looks amazing...

Just a note about how the customizable registrations show on the plane, that I just noticed anyway: the default American liveries (ones starting with an "N") only show the registration on the sides; the default non-American liveries show the customizable registrations not only on the sides, but also on the upper right and lower left wings.

So anyone wanting to do a repaint without the registrations showing on the upper and lower wings, maybe choose one of the default American liveries as template.

Yeah I'm aware of this but for the blue re-color scheme I did I preferred that exact design...  I don't think there is a USA one exactly like it.  But maybe there is?  I only saw 5 model types.  Honestly I haven't even looked at the default liveries hehe... just started on a few of my own.  I prefer hand painted anyway.

This one is done now (with custom interior):

I debated getting this as I have a few higher fidelity GA aircraft already but decided to go for it because I do like to have something more simple for relaxing GA flying without having to think much.  Plus I have a nostalgic place for the 182RG from previous sims.

It’s certainly very nice looking and seems to fly well so far.  Currently cruising from KMMH-KTVL alongside some gorgeous scenery as per a suggestion in another thread in this forum.

Ironically I forgot the retract the gear after takeoff, couldn’t figure out why I wasn’t gaining speed haha.

Greetings,

Just purchased this aircraft from Carenado today.  Years ago, I flew this version out of Chicago Midway.  They were all rentals and showed their age and use.  I have to say Carenado nailed it with this one.  Nailed the look, feel and flight characteristics.  Flew for a couple of hours going from Midway to Meigs, Palwaukee and Joliet, places I visited a lot.  It was like a $20.00 time machine taking me back to those good old days.  I highly recommend this one.  Been flight simming  for years and for me, this one is pure joy. Great job Carenado.

BTW Ryanbatc, those new liveries are awesome.!!!!!!!

Have a great evening everyone.

Just buckled under and got it as well.. agree, it is a lovely plane!

If you like it to start up with the GTNXi in the panel, add this to your runway.FLT file:

I like reading things like this.  Sure the model doesn't have every function and every spark plug can foul etc but for some just getting into these addon aircraft brings back such nice memories!  There's something for everyone in flight sim!

Flying Tim-HH's gorgeous paint around and landing (oops I'm high!) at Flemming KSGS

My excuse has been to whisper "it's not just me, Bert hasn't sprung for it either!"

And then Ryan is killing me with more modern looking liveries!

Perfect, thank you. One of my biggest gripes with Carenado is that it doesn't remember these preferences.

Thank you for this Bert.  It works wonderfully and takes away my singular point of complaint about this aircraft.

2I'd like to say that Carenado did a really nice job on the C182rg. And I'd like to thank Bert for his mod and Ryan and others for the great, talented repaints.
