Fenix block 2 delayed

Featured Replies

Doesn't bother me if I have to wait. On the other hand people who are so impatient sending death threats asking the same questions each day need to face reality.

I also applaud this move. I really wanted the IAEs, so I can fly prototypical jetBlue ops. That said, I also didn't want them to delay other stuff because of it. I'd rather get the fully-functioning complete engines than the mixed-code situation he mentioned.

It was obvious over the weekend this was going to get delayed. Aamir was mentioning how deadlines and the expectations around them did not work in their favor. Plus he mentioned something along the lines of news "while ultimately good" spoke to a helping of bad news along with it.

I mean, seriously, offensive initials not allowed people. An engine variant for an airplane that is perfectly fine to fly currently is delayed a month to speed up something that was going to come later.  Which means we could get the A319s earlier.

So the "IAE Wen" kids are throwing temper tantrums on Discord over an engine delay?  Bizarre....

Not just them but people who think they should get screenshots. One kid asked the same thing every week he finally got muted.

Would have been too great to get the update end of September but nothing to get angry about; it's just 3-4 weeks delay. Smarter move would be just to say the community its going to be taking one month longer than expected the planned time and drop the update earlier to suprice everyone instead of the other way around.

Will the model update only be for the cabin or do you guys have worked on the wings and cockpit modelling/textures also?

Great update and thank you for the delay! Smart & wise move.

I've always been a fan of developers that give at least roughly estimated timeframes instead of being silent for ages until a week before release, even if that meant a small minority would be angry and obnoxious in case of a delay...but the insufferable messages on their Discord, not only today but also across the past couple of days has finally made me realize that giving any timeframes at all is a terrible mistake.

Same here, nothing wrong with rough estimates.  Things are dynamic.  If these guys complaining ever want to be in aviation someday, IRL, they'll need to learn to adjust.  Wait till they get their first trip sheet an hour prior to departure after hotels and cars have been booked.  🙂

I'm more interested in the A321. I don't care what engines they hang on it. I haven't been in a hurry since January 20th, 2016. That was my first day of retirement.😁

A321 hasn't been delayed so that's good.

I hate this sort of marketing, when a dev knows perfectly that can't finish their work in a specific date. I'm not eager to buy their "products" at all, anyway. I like the FBW A320 more because I can follow the dev and I can discuss with them any time, and we have updates almost every day, instead of to have big bugged ones every 6 months or more. Also the FBW team had good appreciament from the commercial Fenix team.

Missing the PMDG DC6 in MSFS 2024 (she's here, but...).

I rather everything done properly than a mixed bag release. And knowing the quality of FenixSim products, I fully agree with this move!. October will be fun.

That is why the devs never mention a date and they give a disclaimer that even though we hope it comes end of September does not mean it will but people don't read or listen.

Just great the "kiddies" and the "immature" adults are having a fit over on discord well what did Fenix team expect after making a hard timeline in the first place on Block 2? This update is great news for the whole project but giving hard estimate timelines set yourself up for this silly type of madness from certain individuals. Just release it when ready or give it a 24hr timeline LOL.
