It looks like there’s a forgotten (or not mentioned) airport in the WU16 list: the La Paloma airport MTCA

It looks like it is forgotten full stop, considering that MTCA is not in the navigational database of my PMDG 737-600.

It is listed in their announcement as “Antoine-Simon Airport (MTCA)”

It is missing in Navigraph. It is present in the default database. You can find it in the WT G1000. But you cant' find MTCA in navigraph charts.

Can confirm this. Antigua, St. Kitts, Montserrat and Guadeloupe are all stunning. The watermasking is just gorgeous after the update.

Just streamed a flight from TFFS (Le Saints, Guadeloupe) down along Dominica, Martinique, St Lucia and St. Vincent, watermasking all incredible. Scenery is awesome.

Looks like it's named in different ways. Let's call it MTCA and problems solved! 😆

It took me a whooping total of 6:50 hours for the complete Caribbean Update. Average speed close to 5 Mbps, minimum of 2 and maximum of 10 Mbps. World record!. Thanks MS guys.

And, all this over a 500/500 Mbps internet connection.

Why would it be in the database? The runway is 1390 meters long and 25 meters wide. Not sufficient for the 600.

And it is not forgotten. It's in there. Littlenavmap lists it as an add-on airport.

I downloaded the update and it took about 30 minutes, and that's with a big Starfield patch at the same time.  Must be certain times of day and/or regions having download issues.

Northeastern US, the update took 12 minutes. I am on Spectrum cable with 200 MB internet.

No problems downloading here. The initial sim update took about 30 seconds. The World Update took about 5 minutes.

Every internet-downloaded game ever has had server clogs on launch/major update days. It's silly to expect MS/Asobo to buy and run the level of servers/bandwidth needed to provide full speed downloads on the 3 or 4 heavy traffic days per year. I, personally, do not want MSFS 2024 to cost $300 so I'm happy to be patient when the download servers are temporarily clogged.

The initial update was very quick but I am halfway in the with the Caribbean update and so far it has taken 2 hours on a 250 mbps connection.  One of the slowest updates for me since MSFS2020 was released.

EDIT Actually things started to speed up at about 60% and the whole download took about 2.5 hrs.

Just installing now. Did everyone get a thank you message when clicking on Release Notes in-game, instead of the usual release notes similar to those in the link above?

OS:     Win11 Home; Mobo: Asus TUF Gaming Z690-Plus WiFi D4; CPU: Intel i5-12400 (Alder Lake) 4.4 GHz
RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR4 64Gb (4x16GB) 3600 MHz; GPU:  MSI Radeon RX 5700XT [8GB]
SSD:  Corsair Force MP510 (for OS);  2x 1TB & 1x 2TB Sabrent Rocket Nvme PCIe 4.0 (one for sim, two for addons)
HDD:  Seagate 3TB (Data); Seagate 1TB (Programs), ASUS TUF Gaming VG32VQ1B Curved 31.5" monitor, 1440p, 38Mbs ethernet

Fulcrum One Yoke, Honeycomb Bravo throttle, Thrustmaster Airbus TCA sidestick & throttle, Logitech Pro pedals, Xbox wireless gamepad (1st gen)

Certainly pays to wait till the rush is over: under 4 minutes to install the 1.29Gb at 31mb/s on my 38mb/s connection, and that includes the time to reach the MSFS homepage.

The 11.80Gb Marketplace WU install was more hit and miss, fluctuating between periods of 33mb/s and only 2.4mb/s, taking 59min.

I contacted Navigraph, and this is what they said about MTCA:

I have checked the Haiti AIP but there are no details about this airport available. It seems that Haiti doesn’t report this to any public service because I haven’t found the code in the FAA notams service too.

Such situation doesn’t mean, that the airport doesn’t exists but FAA nor the data provider doesn’t receive any information/updates from the goverment of this country.

Therefore it’s missing, sorry.
