PMDG 777 and its delay

Featured Replies

Why are they having so much difficulty with RF leg types?

LNAV 2.0 (which included RF legs) was announced years ago.

Cheers

For goodness sakes will people just leave PMDG alone and let them do what they are good at (developing simulation planes) and just focus on your life and/or other planes Jeez. Let them finish the prod

Do we know the real answer why the 777 is delayed over and over. When Rob was speaking on you tube video he was very confident it will be release within 2 weeks and 2 months and he said around one month I believe. Now, it seems like there is no date in sight. I know they are adding polishes apparently but the whole 777 hype is dead for me. It was an overkill with the promised "oh its coming very soon, not too long now, its on approach", etc...

The Tablet for the 737 in MSFS was almost complete for 2 years. So not surprised. Then we got a version with fewer functions than freeware aircraft.

I've owned every version of flight simulator since Flight Simulator 3.0 in 1988.

Very strange appointment - would have thought he wouldn't the best fit for PMDG's PR team.

So we had...
"you can almost smell the warm coffee and new leather, can't you" - back in December
"it won't be long now" - in February
"just around the corner" - in March
"roaring up on the finish line" - also in March
"the end of the wait is nearly upon us" - in April

This is the biggest load of BS I've ever heard. If I treated my customers like this, I'd be out of a job.

AMD Ryzen™ 9 9900X3D, AM5, Zen 5, 12 Core, 24 Threads, 4.4GHz, 5.5GHz Turbo
64GB (2x32GB) DDR5 6000MHz Corsair Vengeance
32GB GeForce® RTX 5090 Graphics Card

They have top men working on it.

Top.

Men.

🙂

For goodness sakes will people just leave PMDG alone and let them do what they are good at (developing simulation planes) and just focus on your life and/or other planes Jeez. Let them finish the product and in the mean time go fly another plane or take a walk its not that complicated. Pressuring them is not gong to do any anyone good and no one here is going to change that.

I agree! All of the posturing has a purpose. It fuels the hype train so we all can be "Randazzled" by RSR the great!

I stop even caring when it releases, plenty of other great products available for the game!

I think we all know what is going on here. The 777 has been completed and fully tested for quite a while now. Their only remaining goal is to watch people suffer as they wait. They show threads like this on a big screen in the conference room and they all laugh evil laughs of joy as they see the mounting frustration.

No one is pressuring them the communication is just lacking shell we say. They say they don't do the timeline BS but like BWBriscoe mentioned in his post. Lets not forget the Q&A 2 weeks to 2 months. SU15 apparently was not to blame so they say we found stuff to add which now needs testing. IMO SU15 delay enabled them to do it which is a good thing since its features most requested they just will not admit it since they already used a similar excuse.

Who cares at this point let them release when they can (and let the drama PR from them cause a hype train) and  don't stress about it. Personally I don't care I am enjoying life outside of FS at the moment don't have time to fly it much anyways. Am I excited about the 777 release for sure but can I wait Yes.

You jest, but I think we can safely assume this is somewhat true.

To be living inside so many peoples heads, rent free, has to be quite a power trip.

Love it, all the moaning and poking at RSR's posturings but we all know that it will make absolute Bank (likely the biggest earning addon ever in the history of the flightsim universe, ever) and we will witness every single complainer complaining of the download servers being down or that their product key isn't registering within 5 mins of its release!! Oh, never change, beloved simmers!

I really don't see any "moaning" in this thread.

I would think the 777 would release in the next month, but in the worst case scenario, I can see it taking 2 months for release. I would be very surprised if it went beyond 2 months though.

Having said that, I originally estimated the 777 would be a 3 to 4 month beta testing process, just like the PMDG 737.  The beta testing period of the 777 has now exceeded the 737 beta testing period.  I can only imagine that PMDG is really struggling with the navdata issues that they talked about, or Randazzo really wants to polish off the 777 for release, especially since many people keep comparing PMDG to Fenix, which probably adds a little pressure to PMDG.

Please lets not speculate folks PMDG and others will release when they are ready. They are not on our timeline (or Maybe).
