July 4, 20241 yr So I have my refresh rate on a monitor set to 240hz, locked my frames with Riva tuner at 40 frames. So when I turn LSFG on it shows a solid 40/120 on the counter. Now I have two monitors. My monitor on the left which only goes to 60 hz, displays navigraph, Vpilot, and Self Loading Cargo. My frames never dip where there would be a stutter, at least most of the time. It is completely butter smooth when I first start LSFG, but then I'll go outside externally to check out the aircraft and come back inside the cockpit and it's not very smooth anymore. The frame still show locked 40/120, but it's not butter smooth. I would have to click on the other monitor then come back to the main one or turn off LSFG, and turn it back on for us to be absolutely smooth again. Anybody else experiencing this? And how have they resolved it? Again my monitor is showing 40/120 the whole time whether it's butter smooth or not as smooth. Correct, except for NCP: in MSFS settings I leave it in "Use global settings". Since I didn't touch the Global settings, I don't know how was VSync set there. July 11, 20241 yr Hi just downloaded this little app, and straight out the box bang my 30 fps are now 60 fps. Brilliant! But, and i might be being dumb here, i am very careful with temps on my system as I've got used to under stressing it and living with 30fps. To explain afterburner overlay has me at 1200 mhz on my 2070 at 30fps, low temps and voltage at 718 and wattage at around 60-70. With this thing enabled yes i get 60 fps but then my mhz goes to 1740 volts to 800 and watts to 90-100. So why would i not just run at 60fps which it can pretty much do anyway as i've not actually saving any power or protecting my system from high temps? I assumed the usage would remain the same? Am i stupid? I'm tough i can take being told i am. Ryzen 5 3600 / RTX 2070 8GB / 2x8 RAM/
July 11, 20241 yr Well, a 2070 should run at around 1710 boost clock, so absolutely normal, it is rather strange that it only clocks up to 1200 when not using LSFG. And if 100W is an issue, you might reconsider your cooling solution. So: all fine, nothing to be bothered. It clocks higher actually (about 1920ish) but i under volted to 1740, i run nvidia 'optimal' not 'prefer maximum performance' and as only using 1080p it only goes to 1200mhz on all games and i quite like it that way as well under stressed. My rig is mainly used for sim racing and its under the stairs in a little room to keep the wife happy, and it gets very hot in there. Obviously it can run at 1740 max performance if i wanted it to and seems if i want to use this app at 60 fps i'll have to run it that way. Thing is it runs at 60 fps anyway if i wanted so i am failing to see what this app actually does any different? I'll try to lock MSFS at 15fps and THEN use this app and see what happens at the new 30fps. I run every other game at 60fps as my monitor is 60 native so unless i run those games at 30 capped and use this app top get 60fps i guess its sort of pointless but was cheap enough to get my monies worth messing about for a few hours with games.. I do run MSFS at maximum resolution though using DLSS. Edited July 11, 20241 yr by flightyjoe Ryzen 5 3600 / RTX 2070 8GB / 2x8 RAM/
July 12, 20241 yr A problem I have with lossless scaling is that the mouse pointer disappears so it is very difficult to operate the instruments in a liner cockpit. I know that I can recover the mouse cursor by clicking in anther window, but this is a big constraint. So, now, I use only FG and has no such mouse pointer problems. Do you have such problems too? How do you solve them in case of solution with lossless scaling? Patrice Dubois

Next, turn off graphics acceleration in your browser settings. In Chrome it's called "Use graphics acceleration when available" but there are similar options in Edge, etc. My curser kept disappearing when using browser on second monitor and then going back into the sim and this has resolved it. July 12, 20241 yr Does anyone know whether lossless scaling works with HDR? I bought a copy, but when I try to run it, the HDR image in MSFS gets totally blown out and the system freezes until I hit Ctrl Alt Del, etc. Honestly, I have no idea what the alphabet soup of acronyms means in the various dropdowns in LSFG, but if anyone has this figured out, please let me know. Many thanks in advance. Have a great weekend. John Wiesenfeld KPBI | FAA PPL/SEL/IFR in a galaxy long ago and far away | VATSIM PILOT P2 i7-11700K, 32 GB DDR4 3.6 GHz, MSI RTX 3070ti, Dell 4K monitor

July 12, 20241 yr Thanks. Tried that, but it still froze up. But what did help was setting the Scaling Type to Nvidia Image Scaling, which did seem to work, but then it turned off the HDR. Too many obscure options. I'm sure it works for some folks, but too fiddly for yours truly. Great that we have this kind of innovation. July 13, 20241 yr I have the problem that after several times I got stutters when using LS. First everthing is smooth and fine and then it starts to get laggy. The only chance to get a smooth is to press Alt+Enter twice. Using 60hz FPS lock at 30 and DX12 with TAA
July 13, 20241 yr Just read 60% of the posts in this thread and it gives me headache lol. Im gonna start with these questions: - When fps showing 30/60 for example, do the GPU and CPU load and temp process as in 30 fps or 60 fps? - If I use 144Hz, and set to 1/3 vsync, and use X2, will it give me 96 fps (vsync 1/3 in a 144hz monitor is 48, and X2 which results in LS 96 fps). July 13, 20241 yr The best thing about LS in the end was that Cpt Piett told me to use RTSS with front edge sync and a limiter. Smooth like never before using 72FPS on my 144Hz screen with simple FG. Sure, on heavy airports, I can not maintain the 72FPS in any case and slight stuttering is visible. But I take that anytime over the tremendous input lag LS introduces. So: 8 bucks spent to learn what works best on my rig, fair deal 🤣 Greetings, Chris AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, 2x32GB DDR5 6000MT/s RAM, MSI RTX 4090 Ventus 3X, Windows 11 Home, MSFS2024
