MS Servers are down

Featured Replies

I may be wrong, and correct me if I am, but when MS2024 comes out, it will have a smaller footprint on your PC, and will rely on downloading all the extra data from the cloud when it's needed. Wonder how that will impact the servers.

  • This is about the only reason I would pick up Xplane--to lose this critical dependency.   OTOH our entire gig is a digital house of cards anyway w/ Russian (and I'm sure American/Chinese too) satellit

  • Also tried various things to fix this before Googling and realizing it's a global issue... started a flight anyway but, wow, does MSFS look ugly without an internet connection...

  • Exactly. Even the Map Enhancer does not work.    And there is also something not quite right with AVSIM's servers. It takes forever when I hit the reply button for the message to show up

Just did a 2 hour flight and was getting a 1 second stutter about every 30 seconds.

Thought it would improve so I didn't abandon it, but no, the entire flight had that 1 second stutter.

You guys are funny (C). All these "removed community folder, reinstalled Windows, formatted SSD" and other fun stuff. I haven't touched my MSFS installation since August 19th, 2020. 509 hours of happy, non CTD  flying with PMDG/Fenix and bunch of other add-ones. I'm on DX11 though.

I know exactly what you mean. Just last week I re-installed MSFS because of CTD's after installing SU15 - it didn't help.

Then I remembered I'd updated Adrenalin the same time as SU15, and forgot the driver update resets the GPU fan settings. The defaults don't cool the card sufficiently, so, CTD 🙄

Just attempted to do a quick flight from SEA to RNO.  A lot of stutters during taxi and during takeoff.  When I took off I quickly discovered a bunch of generic buildings around the SEA area.  No warning was given that I was offline.  Stuttering was so annoying I just ended up terminating the flight!

Has anyone tried to simply switch off online functionality completely in the Menu? That should, in theory, get at least rid of the stutters.

Or at least switch off the bing data. This way the live weather will still work.

Ive done that before - issues occurring at the start of a flight that worked themselves out by the end...but this one seemed serious enough and horrible result that I think I will just wait till I get the all clear from the forums that they think they have fixed the issue before starting a new flight.

From Msfs 2020 forum:

" UPDATE (2024-06-13 AT 15:10 UTC) : Players may find that they have degraded performance, which is directly related to the current Bing Data outage.

The team are working to resolve this as soon as possible."

Hi,

I thought my MSFS 2000 was broken!

No vegetation, no PG, I couldn't put the plane on tarmac... and so on!

I spent more than two hours trying to find what went wrong.

Then I reinstalled MSFS!

No way...

The problem in not solved yet.

Sorry, but a quick check on the official forum ( or social media like X ) would have enlightened you.

Now fixed according to the official forum where you can't have any view that is contrary to theirs.  Haven't tested yet.

When the detailed scenery disappears, first go into Options > Data and check whether online functionality and Bing data world graphics are ON. If not, then try turning them on. If that doesn't work, then the problem is not in the sim itself. There is very seldom any need to reinstall MSFS, and very few problems are solved by doing it.

Ugh I’m not looking forward to that. I already get melted buildings with my 1gbit internet.
