PMDG 777 Released

Featured Replies

This is really good news.  I am usually a longhauler most of the time in the past but it seems in MSFS I was sort of forced to do a lot more flights that are much shorter.  I think my first flight will be SFO-NRT in UA livery if its an option on release day.  I am sure it will be available shortly if not.

Not sure when you guys will get her....but this one is already on flightsim.to for your downloading pleasure (click the link in my sig to get to my flightsim.to page).  More to follow when I get time.

  • From Reddit someone used ChatGPT to summarize RSR’s forum post. Then someone else used Claude AI to turn it into Randazzle speak. It’s gold because I can picture Randazzle saying this into a mirror wi

Who wants to sit back and watch a High Fidelity 777 by PMDG fly like the speed of a Concorde. Makes no sense not to me anyways. I'd rather fly flights from KLAX to KLAS or EGLL to EGCC rather than doing a 10hr flight at warp 4 speed.

It's a great system, I wouldn't tend to use MSFS default compression...

That said I tend to prefer routes I can fly in real time, but I will definitely compress anything with long stretches over water.

For me RealTime > TimeCompression > AFK & Pause @ TOD. Although many seem to prefer the later....

I fly with A Pilots Lifer, so can't use time compression.

Of course you can, I do it all the time in the long-haul flights.

Waiting on Fixes for 737 line. Most of these are long overdue, especially the latest show stoppers since SU15:

-Post SU15 issues (locked yoke, equipment settings reverted, missing EFB tablet etc). Forced restart to begin. Priority one!!

-Tiller control with joystick rotate axis is broken

-IAN mode annunciator capture is All wrong (works flawless on Zibo)

-LNAV often has broken curves / lines

-Still no weather radar (other Devs figured it out)

-No viewable copilot (unless you install add-ons)

--Simple (one click) brake operation didn't work (last time I tried)

-Tablet is basic still and still requires FMC for many settings and actions

-Battery is hard coded to 24 volts

Time compression is a waste of time just do shorter routes. Its flight sim and not the real world after all.

I don’t plan on using the feature myself as I always do my flights in real time. Others were interested so I provided the information. What maybe a waste of time to you is important to someone else. You operate your sim the way you want and others will operate their sim as they see fit.

Just because it doesn’t make sense to you doesn’t mean others done like it.

Still waiting for that skip flight function. Actually doing the flights has become so exhausting, would save me so much time if I could just load up the plane, put in the flight plan and then magically appear at my destination 👌

Looks like it's finally releasing. The beta testing for this was almost twice as long as the beta testing time for the PMDG 737.  Also, it looks like this will release before the Flight Factor 777 after all.

RE: FF 777 -> Those sim graphics (clouds, anti aliasing etc) are looking really bad. It's not even an option. Worse than previous version (11).

Well, as you wrote, it is a simulator. So my interest is to simulate RW flights. And e.g. with the SWISS 777, besides some exception when flying to LEPA or LEBL, most flown routes are long. Very long. And to me, it is indeed a fun part of the sim to fly e.g. LSZH to OMDB or even to KLAX without the need of letting run MSFS for 10h or more...

Greetings, Chris

Funny much.  So wow.

I'm like you so I'm going to go for the competition with the 777v2 from FF in another simulator, after all the promises and problems with the 737 but especially with the DC6 I'm not going to buy this one for now maybe in the future if these guys put some more love into their addons once they get the money from the people.

I'm a big fan of the 777 and I really don't have problems with simulating fictitious or shorter routes, what I like is to fly and master the 777, the rest seems to me to be an accessory.

Try real-world Emirates flight (EK110 / EK109, B77W): Malta (MLA) <> Larnaca (LCA), flight time: ~2:15 🙂

I am aware of those short haul flights, but this is not what I want: I am not just flying 2h 777 flights because they exist, but no interest at all in doing them. To me, the fun part is doing an actual 12h flights in under 2h, something I did a lot back in the P3D days with the QW 787 using their jump ahead feature.
