Did my first flight yesterday, LIMC/EDDF, took a while to start understanding the plane/fmc, cause I was used to airbus. But managed it safe to the gruond.

Trying now to set up fmc for same route, but when i try to insert  V1/V2/VR in Takeoff Ref page (afeter having set plan, weight, flaps and so on), i get the message "invaild entry". Speeds calculated using EFB. What may I be doing wrong?

Is the ADIRU aligned?

- A/T is a little dozy, just as it was it in FSX/P3D, where the speed will get behind the curve and it adds loads of power to catch up (maybe the real one does that too)

I had this on my first flight yesterday. Same issue I was having in P3D. On descent, if I used any amount speed brakes, A/T would go full power which causes over speed.

Surely this is a bug still? Can’t imagine the real aircraft does this..

Looks like I need to setup departing runway before entering v speeds. Nice big plane, but quite traumatic to go from airbus to boeing!

Ah yes. ADIRU aligned and departure runway in  before it’ll accept the speeds.

But are there any PDFs you can download and peruse offline - as used to be the case with PMDG in the P3D days?

Indeed - very easy to find this but not what I am after which is something specific to the PMDG MSFS 2020 777 300ER that isn't a YT vid.

I thought I was going crazy using the speed brakes and that happening. I remapped my honeycomb bravo like three times. So annoying.

If the engines are adding thrust to regain a selected speed and you have the speed brakes out then you’ll get an alert chime, just as in the A320 the speed brake ECAM memo starts flashing if the engines are adding thrust with them extended.

If you’re using the speed brakes to slow down or to catch the profile in VNAV then it shouldn’t be adding power. The Boeing VNAV is quite complex also in that the A/T reacts differently depending you’re in PATH/SPEED HOLD mode etc. What’s the FMA saying?

I have had the same issues as other's. It happens when you want to slow down to catch a VNAV speed, Tonight I had mine where no matter how much speed brake I added the engine's kept spooling up even though I was 25 over my vnav speed.
It was so bad the plane was only at 500fpm descent I was 25 over adding speedbrake but kept getting both the speedbrake extended warning along with the more drag warning in the FMC yet the engines were spooling up keeping the speed from reducing.
I had to leave it in that config with the speedbrake warning and the more drag warning until the engines finally decided to chill out.

This was all while in Vnav Path.

I have always selected the departure runway and built the flightplan before adding the v speeds. Isn't that the normal way to do it? I just followed the procedure in Tutorial #1 for the 777 and the 737 way back when I first started using them.

That’s correct yes. The last that goes in is the V Speeds.
