I did not get a welcome email but Have a support ticket open. Where is the documentation? Trying to use the autopilot for alt hdg and it will not engage. This is without a FMC flightplan loaded.

    $85 I’m gonna pass that a lot of money.

Discord is mess, does anyone know if I do not load a plan in the FMC is the autopilot usable? I cannot get it to engage all I get when engaging is red annunciator and "autopilot"? No HDG ALT VS?

I don’t own the plane, but I’ve also heard the EFB cannot really be used in VR as it doesn’t have a popup keyboard for making necessary entries.

That's not correct. I can type in the text entry fields in VR just fine. The problem comes if I don't then click somewhere that is not a text entry field - having a field "active" freezes the yoke and rudder pedals. Not sure if that's a VR-only problem or not.

Works fine at x2, which is all i use.

So to clarify, when you select an input box on the EFB, a virtual keyboard pops up in VR allowing you to type?  I read on their discord from a user that there was no virtual keyboard.

Oh, virtual, no. I just type with the keyboard. I misread that as you couldn't type at all in VR, apologies.

If you search for PMDG MD-11 Manual you will find the documents  in “the internet archive”. You can try this document / flow / checklist:

or this

I've tried it with 4x over the atlantic with FSHud and FSLTL without any problems (EGNX to BIKF). Using 8x and the plane became unstable.

Perfect, 2X or 4X is mostly all I ever use, looks like I’ll be picking this one up.

I THINK your math is off here but I may be wrong!. -1000 to +1000 is not a simple +2000 inertia difference.

You are wrong! We are not talking about an inertia difference (which does not exist in physics) but a speed difference. Going from -1000 to 1000 means the exact same acceleration as going from 0 to 2000 or 8000 to 10000. It simply means changing speed relatively by 2000. Speed change per time unit is acceleration.

Thats like putting a tanker ship going at 1kts into revers and expecting it to immediately start going backwards.

Due to masses and forces of ships, they will never accelerate/deccelerate at 1G. The ship will slow down with as follows:

decceleration = breaking force/mass.

Are you saying that a C172 and a MD-11 can change direction equally fast?

I see your argument, but I don't see how that is the case. Mass must be a factor here.

And fuel burn was accordingly? Not like the A300 which on 4x still burns fuel like it was on 1x…
