July 5, 20241 yr I'm trying to figure out RNAV approaches. Does anyone know what the value ""min prof" refers to? 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5

Edit: to elaborate, since you should have visual of the runway and its surroundings at minimums, the airplane will level off at min prof altitude. Proper way to fly an RNAV approach is NAV + PROF. No, my consideration are applicable no matter whether it is a MD-11, a 172 or a teapot. I am only looking at the movement. When somethign accelerates from any speed to any speed that is different by 2000ft/min in one second, the acceleration is ~1G. The one second I just took from air, therefore you would need to specify how long it took exactly from the -1000 to 1000. Given the exact time, we can determine the G number in effect. Once the acceleration is known and the mass is known too, we could determine the lift force, which was added by the pitch change.

July 5, 20241 yr Moderator I thought I would buy this immediately upon release, but the YT videos I’ve seen regarding pitch control are worry some. This has always been my pet peeve with sim aircraft for the past 25 years or so. To me this is an immersion killer. I know it’s on their bug list but I’m worried there’s more behind it. Please don’t misunderstand, I’ve had severe MD11 withdrawals ever since switching from FSX to P3D 😎 and really want this bird to be great. July 5, 20241 yr Great plane for sure, very addictive. Make sure if you are having AP Discons. Click off the Hardware over ride in settings. Chris Chiozza
July 5, 20241 yr I got it yesterday and I love it! I see room for improvement here and there but nothing that prevents me from enjoying it as it is. the MD11 is my favorite plane and I have been praying for it since pmdg stopped its development. But, I have a question for the other owners: What do you think about the exterior sounds specially at cruise?. I find it Sooooooooooo quiet that its underwhelming. Dull, quiet, sounds like someone is using a hairdryer far away. I dont know what to think Juan Ramos
July 5, 20241 yr i'm also holding off in anticipation of improvements to handling, even the way it skits left and right on some videos during takeoff seems poorly done streamers/youtubers seem intent on saying how amazing it is, while it has these immersion breaking twitchy direction changes i think most streamers will say anything as they want to keep the free/early access coming, and need to be streaming the latest aircraft to get their views and donations Edited July 5, 20241 yr by EGLD

Both are acknowledged by the dev and on the plate for an early fix. -B

Wouldnt call it "amazing" but compared to their initial B717 release back in 2016 this is leaps above it. No comparison. I don't regret buying it at all, but just be prepare to face some odd things here and there. But TFDI has an extensive bug tracker and are planning to push out an update next week already. I think it has a bright future ahead. EASA PPL SEPL + NQ / CB-IR in progress MSFS24 | X-Plane 12

July 5, 20241 yr I think this MD-11 is getting on off the best heavy airliner to fly - if all the small bugs with upcoming updates gets fixes !
