Is it me or does PMDG's 777 cockpit look outdated?

It looks much like the 777 from FSX but with the cool lighting engine/shadows from MSFS. I’m not unhappy with that as the T7 was a well modelled aircraft then and it still is now. I suspect that familiarity breeds contempt.

It's skeptics like you that motivate us to prove you wrong. You have no idea what's going on behind the scenes. I've been in sim development off and on for over 26 years. We're one of the few devs tha

Maybe in being more than a screenshot? You're comparing a non-existing product to an existing product, and all based on a screenshot. Also how do we know the Bluebird devs are perfectionists? You h

My first thought when I first loaded it was It looks like it was ported over from P3D

Both the P3D and MSFS versions are based on actual photos and measurements from real 777 cockpits, so it stands to reason that they look similar.

PMDG has pivoted to primarily serve Xbox customers and their decade-old hardware, so no, you're not going to get something that approaches what Fenix looks like.

I'm not totally sold on it yet either. For me the Fenix stays the benchmark...

I always thought the Fenix looked like of Drab compared to the 737.

Definitely divided opinions...I thought it seemed to look like a port from P3D as well. Between that and the sounds, I'd say there is room for improvement.

I don't see many people thinking the same way. Fenix (reason they are more fps heavy) set the bar for modern airliners and Just Flight for the older birds. Not saying PMDG textures and modelling are bad or awful though.

Maybe we should ask Fenix to make a P3D version and compare if it looks like a port  😂....serious note: I'm thinking it's more we've all seen B777 cockpits for 30 years whereas in my case I never really looked at any Airbus sim or real-world cockpit apart from the A380 in that whole time.

777 is an old plane that's why. Nothing like the modern 787 and airbus which you are used to. Your brain is playing tricks on you.

Watch out for the MD-11 coming soon. It's really old !

777 is newer than an A320.

Personally I like the brown cockpits and think the 777 is a very neat and tidy looking flight deck.

I kind of agree that it does look a little P3D...I can't quite put my finger on why...on my system it just looks kinda dated (in a visual sense - I get that its reflective of the real 777).

I'm wondering if it just depends how people have their zoom / eye position set. Some of the images online look amazing, its just that what I see on my screen doesn't look anything like that.

Ya ummm, I don't think that's what any of us are saying. At least, I'm not. I flew the PMDG birds in P3D, along with the FSLabs airbusses, and the Quality Wings 787. But this latest offering from PMDG doesn't seem to have the best textures...or something?? Honestly not sure what it is but it doesn't seem to be as sharp as some of the newer offerings from other developers in the MSFS arena. It has zero to do with aircraft type.

Pmdg are a mid-tier legacy porting dev with poor support and atrocious store.  They are not even in the same ball park as Fenix or Bluebird. Or even FlyByWire for that matter.
