REX Atmos coming

Featured Replies

Well, Atmos didn’t turn out to be the rabbit hole I feared it could be. So far I’ve only changed a few settings (while flying lol) and I’m happy with what I’ve got at the moment. Sky looks great.

It reminds me so much back to P3D days, where instead of flying I spent hours and hours more on tweaking, instead of flying

Same with me and FSX, I bought every add-on going and spent days and days trying to make it all work together and then it just mostly crashed so you give up in disgust. I even kept a log of changes so when something broke I could see what might have caused it 🙄

It works great with AS! And live weather of course. I change between them quite a bit. Sometimes I'm very happy with AS and some days I prefer default live weather 🙂

I really feel pretty much the same as what you described, but I came to this conclusion near the end of my use of P3D. I bought so many enhancement addons for that simulator -- for clouds, weather, the environment, the ground textures -- so much time tinkering it started to take away from my enjoyment of simming itself. So, when 2020 came out I said enough of that and I have avoided the purchase of any of these kind of addons because I just do not want to go back down that road, back into that pattern of a constant stream of addons to make things look better. The only exception I made was for Accuseason and only because it was a very simple addons to set up and forget about and seasons are important to me as I fly primarily in eastern Canada and the US.

I do understand that for some people the changes these enhancements bring really enrich their enjoyment of the sim. I can only imagine how someone who has been interested in weather and the atmosphere for a long time will appreciate Atmos and get a lot of satisfaction from adjusting the look of the sim to be closer to what they see when they look at the sky. But that is not me, my eye is not trained to see the cloud formations and atmosphere in a sophisticated manner -- I do not even have the conceptual language to describe the differences -- and so the sim as it is has been fine for me.

Hi All. I wanted to post some images here to show the sort of results you can achieve with Atmos. Here is a first set and I will post more.

Hello, your wonderful pics did not help here. What are your settings to create this colours in the sky?
you should post the online Preset name so we can use this settings, wich create this colours in the sky!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The software is useless for me it cannot be used on 1920 x 1080 screen
The bottom of the interface is cut off and it is impossible to operate
I can’t believe that somebody released that without testing or simply checking it on the laptop

Hold left control and move the mouse wheel to scale the text bigger or smaller, so you can actually click on the buttons.

Is there a way to get presets to apply automatically? I have set the utility to open with MSFS but the preset isn't applied. It's a pain having to go into the utility to apply each preset every single restart.

It would also be useful if it could be minimised to the toolbar instead of sitting behind the sim.

It looks good but the usability is difficult.
