It depends what is broken! I don't touch parts of the sim is broken and enjoy what works. In my case it's predominately free flights. Some stock airplanes works fine out of the box Grumman is one of the few of them

Some do, in free flight well above the ground, sure. So maybe 30% of our 200 USD game? Not really a bragging point, unfortunately.

Also, that's not one of them. Have you tried using the autopilot on that? It's broken, too.

Release a broken product, go on vacation, come back, and release a cosmetic hotfix... And nobody gets fired.

I'm in the wrong industry.

This has been a frustrating issue since 2020. It’s evident that ASOBO lacks the necessary management and programming expertise due to ongoing small and significant problems with their software. I genuinely doubt they will ever get it right.

Surprisingly, such issues can be found on ramps, taxiways, or even runways.

Today’s update was not a cosmetic fix. It was to resolve a regression introduced with the 1.2.8.0 update that caused avionics on some aircraft to be non-functional on Xbox and also on PC if using Low/Med graphics options.

Thanks,
MSFS Team

Again begs the question: Where is The Quality Control?

It's shoddy, plain & simple!

When they don't beta test updates, like they did at first with 2020, until users screamed, this will happen again, and again.

I'm not sure if you're interested in this, but I wanted to share my experience over the past six months. In both 2020 and now with 2024, I've been dealing with crashes to desktop (CTDs) while using Nvidia products. However, after switching to the Studio Driver version, those annoying CTDs have stopped. A friend of ours, who uses AMD cards, hasn't encountered any issues with CTDs. I believe that the Game Drivers, along with various tweaks, are causing problems with different games.

They don't have a large enough testing team. We know that from MSFS 2020. They would probably have to hire a hundred more full time testers, probably even more. But a hundred more full time testers would cost a lot of money.  That's probably how that white screen avionics bug slipped through their testing.

For this reason, that's why we have Sim Updates and the public beta test, so the community can help test in the public beta during the Sim Update testing period. The Sim Updates and the community helping to test the Sim Updates in the public beta, save Microsoft from having to hire an additional one hundred full time testers.

But nobody wants to wait for a proper Sim Update for the most severe bugs to be fixed. Hence, the MSFS team are caught in cycle of needing to release a hotfix for the most severe bugs, not having enough testers to ensure the quality  of their hot fix is good and doesn't cause more bugs (ie. whitescreen avionics), and people in the community who are impatient and don't want to wait for a proper Sim Update where the testing is more thorough by the community during the public beta.

Yeah .. I just had it out with one of those "impatient ones" on the msfs forums.. I can now see why some devs take a hard line and not release any information unless its on their terms. I mean i honestly felt the guys frustration but he failed to acknowledge the fact that NO AMOUNT OF COMPLAINING in the hotfix thread is going to make the dev fix his own  issues with the sim happen any faster.

I was that guy at the beginning of MSFS2020 ... until i realized that constant complaining about the same issue will not change anything. Register your displeasure and your proposed solution once or twice... after that find your own solution.. unless of course you love to see your own text and like to argue.

While you may be right, ASOBO, with its "expertise" and arrogance, overlooks even beta testers. Not all beta testers can be so clueless; it reflects the ASOBO management mentality and their low-quality programmers. It is clear that this product is the most significant release of all time, but it is overwhelmed with bugs in Microsoft Flight Simulator.

Sentence one: Asobo’s management and programmers are rubbish. Sentence two: They’ve obviously produced the most significant release of all time.

Erm…..?

I hope they have one heck of a development update coming tonight.

The update could include a detailed rundown of a deep and comprehensive patch incoming tomorrow, and a map to both the Ark of the Covenant and the Holy Grail, and still the usual suspects would be saying ‘I want their children burned’.

This has always been a problem since 2020 released 4 years ago. It comes from the fact that many of the default airports were built using a mostly automated process that uses aerial or satellite imagery to create the airport and its runway/taxiway layout, building placement etc. The automated placement of runway and taxiway lights often produces the problem seen above.

Getting correct light placement can only be done by a human being hand-editing the airport, and it can be tedious and time-consuming process. I don’t think Asobo has anywhere enough people to visit the tens of thousands of default airports looking for issues like shown above.

The best bet is to submit an official bug report for specific airports that have the problem, or to look on flightsim.to for any updates created by 3rd party commercial or freeware developers.

I don't really understand what people are complaining about, I installed the patch and just completed a flight down the California coast from Santa Monica to Rosarito, MX in the default VJet. The update fixed a lot of annoying issues with the jet. I'm a happy camper. The scenery was awesome flying down the coast. IMO anyone who prefers 2020 over 2024 is completely off their rocker crazy.
