But the biggest disappointment is in-house ATC and traffic.

Yes. So many rumours flying around that Working Title were working on ATC or that KAI(?) from AIG traffic was working with Asobo, yet absolutely nothing came to fruition (That I am aware of). Just a couple of cryptic posts.  It's all fine and dandy having nice scenery, and nice airport scenery, but whenever there is an AI A320 on its backside doing spins it kinda ruins it. (That's when you can see it, if the aggressive LOD system hasnt removed in 10 foot from you!)

As soon as core sim basics are brought up, you see people defend Asobo to the hilt, especially here on avsim. No one is proclaiming they have done a bad job in regard to certain elements, such as scenery, lighting, the fact they revolutionised the franchise. However, for too long now core basics have been left, with vague replies whenever anyone questions them about it. Seems like they just kick the can down the road. Is it 5 years now spanned over 2 sims, and yet ATC is woeful, as is AI traffic (unless you use a 3rd party addon).

That's a good observation. I'm (also) not so concerned about bugs as deliberate design decisions which are senseless or made for the sake of change without any discernable purpose. To wit: 1) Con

Amazing figures. I thought flight simming was the centre of gaming universe. I got the impression that we were awash with an influx of would be pilots. Seems not. When Asobo/MS go and make a pigs

Apparently to the PS 5 and Switch 2 from what I’ve been reading!

That should improve their player count substantially!

I've learned the hard way to not do that anymore. If you want conversations to stay civilised never discuss religion, politics and especially flight sim physics models.

There is a whole thread dedicated to discussing the flight model of MSFS 2024, including over feedback and reviews from over 30 real life pilots:

Feel free to add your own review of MSFS 2024's flight model in that thread.  Even better you are a real life pilot, and if you fly that specific plane IRL in MSFS 2024 as well, your review would be very useful in that thread. There is feedback from over 30 real life pilots in that thread, maybe up to 50 real life pilots.

And FYI, that MSFS 2024 flight dynamics thread has stayed civilized since @lwt1971 posted it back on November 20th, 2024.

Are you sure you are talking about the heading and not the course, track or bearing? A lot of people are confused by these. 😎

I think I recall reading something that was posted around the release of MSFS 2024 saying that WT were indeed still working on ATC but that it wouldn't be in the initial release and instead would be coming at a later point in MSFS 2024's evolution. I don't have a source though (it may have been in a Q&A livestream?).

To be fair, Skyrim was just on sale on Steam a few days ago for $3.99, and that pulled in a massive amount of new players. Numbers are already beginning to drop.

Plus, I think Gamepass is the natural home of MSFS, and I'm not sure those numbers are available.

As far as where they are going though, there are several possible directions.....

That.....is actually pretty awesome. Took the Big Radials Goose out for a spin near KAVX. Was flying pretty well, water landings were not difficult (no bouncing) and even docked at the POI Casino on the island full of boats. Even has a fishing pole on the plane to pretend like you were fishing. Sights and sounds were almost too good to be true. Having a boat actually looks pretty fun.
