This is fantastic news. It's irrational how much it bothered me knowing the registration was visually screwed up on the outside of the aircraft even when I was in the cockpit and I couldn't see it.

You may have to add 2 quotes to your livery's aircraft.cfg (ATC ID ) just to make sure.  Some paints already did it that way.

  • I had to see for my own eyes!  TLOD is vastly improved.  Flying in the sim looks like flying for real again!  (Even though real simmers prefer their scenery to look like minecraft!) You can see p

  • Don’t normally bother with hassle of a beta but as the release version feels like a huge beta anyway I don’t suppose there’s much to lose.

Does anyone have a problem with no rain at all.

yes.

in VR, I can see rain from the outside but from within the cockpit it depends how and where I move my head. didn't have this before.

Nothing irrational about it. Stuff like that would drive me nuts.

And why do the ground textures still have the images of planes, cargo loaders etc still in the photorealistic textures?

It’s a bug in the beta and has been reported. Something went transparent when it shouldn’t have.

Im struggling with VRAM badly here 3080 maxed out at high settings at 1440p. stutter fest in the fenix. any tips for a fellow simmer here?

I found DLSS is using a lot more vram now (I’m on dlss 4), especially if you raise your secondary scaling to 2.00. Even on a 3090, it made more sense to go back to TAA for me.

So in between all these different steps, are you guys at some point actually enjoying the sim?

Of course, there is nothing like playing in a broke sim.  I get 17 FPS on a good day.

Hmm sounds like you need to either upgrade your system or give up and use something that works for you. Why do you play a sim that’s too much for your hardware?

To call ancient egyptians "arab" is almost on the same level as claiming that Cleopatra was black.
