So I think I'm going to give him a pass on this one. IMHO this is an example of fair comparison rather than a sim war/troll comment: he's in a certain place that's affected by the storm and comparing experiences. Most importantly, he's doing it without judgement.

I understand, in hindsight I may have responded to quickly and should have let it pass; I didn't mean Ian was making judgmental comments. I was afraid others might come in to start a discussion... Usually threads like that become very nasty, very quickly...

Cheers, Bert

  • Or spend every evening flying in 2024 and ignore most of the posts on these forums 🤷‍♂️

  • I had to see for my own eyes!  TLOD is vastly improved.  Flying in the sim looks like flying for real again!  (Even though real simmers prefer their scenery to look like minecraft!) You can see p

  • Don’t normally bother with hassle of a beta but as the release version feels like a huge beta anyway I don’t suppose there’s much to lose.

Yessir - totally agree 👍

Is historical weather working? I've changed the time on a few flights but it doesn't seem to change the weather.

Historical Weather has always 'worked' for me, without even installing the beta.  I am unsure how accurate it is but the weather is always changing if I adjust the time slider to earlier in the day.

I tried it out. The G1000 white dot is still there instead of the silhouette of a plane. Looking around will still hang and then zip around making it hard to tackle things you may need to do quickly during landing, etc. Might just be a 'me' problem but annoying none the less.

Do you have the G1000 Navigraph plugin? Try removing that and try again

change the time in the "Live" tab, not the "custom" one.

The update breaks Justsim LFMN scenery I have, for instance. Didn't check others, but also default NZAA is broken. Hell... all was good before. Rolled back. I hope this gets fixed.

The airport satellite imagery breakthrough is a bit of a killer.

I didn't think it would effect my flight last night but I was trying to land at Pembury in Wales and I couldn't see the runway as the other imagery was covering the numbers on approach.

And they really need to sack the person who makes the trees for MS2024. Too many. Everywhere. Even in the sea!

Pretty sure it's an automated process.

Well sack the person who automates the process🙂

Apart from that I can run MS2024 at Ultra with smooth performance despite the jungle below. MS2020 is a stutter-fest at Ultra.

Two flights two CDT has not been good for my system SU1 beta

Sack all the computers. Let’s go back to typewriters.

9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen

MS2024 works the way it does because it was designed that way.  Bugs prevent a system to work as designed.

The menus suk is NOT a bug!  My lights on my imported 2020 plane not working in the day is also NOT a bug because the program was not designed to handle it.  It could be called an exception.

Even if found in an internal test the release of the project could not go into jeopardy.

If you think you are smart then make the call.

I've tried several flights with the stock a320. Before the patch I was able to fly just fine. Been shooting for more realistic flights and did not input the approach as I was using FSHUD. Each time once I got confirmation on the approach and went to put it into the MCDU the plane froze. Now, it was still flying and the clouds were moving but I could not make any input to the aircraft. Throttles wouldn't budge, flaps, altitude selector, nothing.

Does it still happen without FSHUD?

SU1 is probably the biggest jump in graphical quality I have ever seen in MS Flightsim

To make such a statement it must have been really bad MSFS2024 at launch. I am very pleased to see that things are improving, according to my standard I think it will be ready in 2 sim updates (6 months?) , I will never give in to buy an official release which is instead a failed beta. Let's all have fun
