May 16, 20251 yr I am continuing a flight from the East to West coast of the USA. SU3 is giving me goosebumps it is looking so good, so smooth and so sharp - helped along by the amazing AutoFPS test version 0.4.4.10-test8. a TLOD of 1000 and OLOD of 837! Could not be happier at this moment (reported 30fps in AutoFPS is due to being in the snipping tool - actually it is super smooth at 60fps with FG)! May 16, 20251 yr I'm getting amazing textures and performance with SU3. Another thing I noticed is the reflection texture, they look so good. For example, on the CS777, the cowl around the engine looks like actual metal and reflects realistically
May 16, 20251 yr Here's the metal reflections I'm talking about, also the wing has a very nice light reflection now.
May 16, 20251 yr Hopefully SU3 will be where initial release should have been closer too.....SU2 certainly for me is another step up and looking forward to the next one. Might be close enough to get me off 2020 at that point (I do fly 2024 about 30% of the time - even in the not so great state I do have good flights every once in awhile for me to fly 2024).

SU3 is stunning - lighting, weather, textures, sharpness and smoothness are impressive. I have been on this flight for over 2hrs without any hint of stuttering or sound glitches. This flight has seen a smile on my face the whole way! I use HDR configured with the Microsoft HDR Calibration tool. I have used the Exposure Compensation EV setting to just tone down the very brightest of the clouds. This is the most impressive I have seen 2024 since release. Yes, if you have a custom path, you don't usually have this issue. MS/Asobo also recommend this if you are doing lots of betas.. I will try and find the forum post. I've always installed on a custom path (right from when 2020 launched), and I've never had this issue. The default path thing is just weird - I wish they could fix this. Every update leads to a lot of angry posts (rightfully so, it shoudn't happen). But if you want to avoid this and use betas, install in a non-default location. Good news is that 2024 is super quick to install, so you could just uninstall / reinstall before joining the SU3 beta 9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen

May 16, 20251 yr No issues with SU3 beta aso far. No sign of SU3 beta allowing doors to be opened without being forced to jump in or out as one of the enhancements or focus areas for improvements it seems so far, sigh as it still bugs me heaps with the Asobo MAX-can’t save a custom cabin view as clicking on the cockpit door between the cockpit and the nicely done cabin jumps you outside and you cannot use shift + WASD to move towards the MAX/BBJ cabin which got improvements in SU2 in the Asobo Max. Wishlist item by the way with 389 votes, not the most number of votes-yet not a focus area for SU3: 2024: Please allow doors to be opened without being forced to jump in or out - Official Microsoft Flight Simulator / Wishlist - Microsoft Flight Simulator Forums Also bugs me with other default planes of course. Seem the extreme stuttering/flickering when panning the camera with DLSS and FG on has disappeared for me now with the SU3 beta. May 17, 20251 yr FSLTL traffic seems to be much improved. Can now see strobes and nav lights from a distance at night (still can't see them during daytime), traffic is fluid at KMIA, planes are taking off from 8L and 8R at the same time, nice. Some planes still don't land though, but others do. Can also see contrails (and the aircraft) from the ground now, finally!
