I find it particularly helpful during the bright noonish hours and reduce it a bit. Not sure if "contrast" would be a better description, but it's something very similar to it. Nuts, I've been questioning the lack of brightness/contrast control right the way through 2020 and now months into the 2024 release they finally seems they have provided an option to have what every game since Forever has had to be able to accommodate user preferences and Monitor variations. It only took them 5 years😁

Yep, I reckon SU4 is when it'll hit the old fashioned "V1.0 Gold Release" so to speak, so evidently and factually it was released roughly a year too early. If only they named it Early Access to start with eh!? Pico Neo3 Link VR - Windows 11 64bit, Gigabyte Z590 Aorus Elite Mobo, i7-10700KF CPU, Gigabyte RX 9070 XT OC 16gb (AMD GPU), 32gig Corsair 3600mhz RAM, SSD x2 + M.2 SSD 1tb x1 Saitek X45 HOTAS - Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals - Logitech Flight Yoke - Homemade 3 Button & 8-directional Joystick Box, SNES Controller (used as a Button Box - Additional USB Numpad (used as a Button Box)

May 17, 20251 yr Commercial Member Some findings with SU3: Had to clear my community folder, some airports etc are causing CTD. So renamed the old community folder and started fresh then no CTDs The sim looks much better in terms of clarity, clearness of textures and lighting. Might be me but it seems the overall look of the ocean / water looks much better too Night time flying is still terrible with the sepia mask looking as ugly as usual I think SU3 is the start of getting to where we need to be, its clear its crisp and it performs well (for me) Lets hope all our favorite aircraft and sceneries get updated quickly, because I for one enjoy these betas, it gives us a clear indication on where we are heading, and its looking good!

May 17, 20251 yr I was always using RTSS front edge sync to lock framerate (settings from Cpt Piet). But the new frame limit in-game for me is a game changer and better than RTSS. I set it to 30 with FG makes it 60 for heavy IFR. Or 45/90, 60/120 for VFR. I do use Gsync. @Noel @Cpt_Piett maybe you guys can check it out to if you decide to switch to SU3 beta at some time. May 17, 20251 yr Sounds promising, I'm looking forward to it but won't be joining the beta. SU2 looks impressive on my system, another step or two forward. Still hasn't fixed my main annoyances - LODs a'popping and the PG tree blobs, but on balance this is continuing to turn into an utterly amazing looking sim. I saw the comments here about being able to download the streamed stuff, and this was one of the things I was most keen on when I first went to 2024 a couple of weeks after release. But actually, I've gotten used to being able to enable or hide planes on the fly, so to speak, without having to restart the sim, and I rather like it. And I've not had any real problems with streaming, performance wise. In fact, generally 2024 has been better than 2020 in that respect. 2020 streaming always suffered performance wise over the weekends here in the UK but I've not noticed that with 2024. Of course, I don't do piloting/cockpit stuff, so it may be that things are different for all you "up above the clouds looking at screens" kinda folk, but for me it's a case of, as the song says, the future's so bright I gotta wear shades. Maybe by SU10 or so we really will have the perfect digital twin for me and the perfect cockpit sim for you piloting types. Here's hoping! Ryzen 9 7900X, Corsair H150 AIO cooler, 64 Gb DDR5, Asus X670E Hero m/b, 3090ti, 13Tb NVMe, 8Tb SSD, 16Tb HD, 55" Philips 4k HDR monitor, EVGA 1600w ps, all in Corsair 7000D airflow case. Sims in use - 2020, 2024, XP-12 and -11, FSX/SE, P3Dv4.5 and v5.4. DCS and AFS2 installed but rarely used

Again, it's a Beta, if you were not prepared to test for issues and report them, why take part in SU3? There will be bugs and issues that MS would like feedback from. So please report your issues. May 17, 20251 yr I'd just like to give a shout out to all you guys testing the betas, thank you to all of you testing these beta builds. I used to do beta testing for a wx engine many moons ago but I wouldn't have the patience or time these days especially on the sim itself. Appreciate your hard work! Chris Howard
