July 24, 2025Jul 24 The end result of that session is that I can relax a bit with respect to looking for a new PC. I will not be switching to MSFS 2024 until at least SU4 is released, and quite probably beyond that. Marketplace lag - the big problem here is the time it takes for updates to be released. There is something seriously wrong with the update system on MS Marketplace if it takes several months for updates to appear. I have transferred numerous products across to Contrail and IniManager recently because of this (and the lack of configuration options), and I would transfer all of them if I could. In the stream Jorg reckoned that with the various changes they've made their marketplace should now be as fast as other marketplaces since the vast bulk of actions are now on the developer including the timing of the submission to the marketplace. Give people power to really test their personality.

July 24, 2025Jul 24 Got Friends have just floated their idea for rentals - 1 Day Rental — Free Trial ($0.00): Everyone gets one free day with each aircraft. It’s a chance to explore the full experience with no strings attached. Sometimes, one flight is all it takes to know if it feels right for you. 3 Day Rental — $0.99: This one means the most to us. Not everyone can afford to buy right away, and that’s okay. Life is expensive. With this option, we wanted to make it easier for you to spend more time with the aircraft without pressure. A weekend flight shouldn’t break the bank—and if it helps you decide later, then we’ve done our job. 7 Day Rental — 50% of Full Price: For those who are nearly ready to commit, this gives you a full week of access. And if you choose to buy within seven days of the rental ending, Microsoft will automatically apply the rental cost toward your purchase. No wasted money. No stress. 9950X3D - X870E Aorus Master- TUF 5090 OC - 64GB DDR5 - 1500W HXi - Titan 360 RX LCD - 9100 Pro x 2 - LG 45GX950A - HOTAS Warthog with Ava Base

I really wish more devs adopted this practice it's such a consumer friendly way to allow us as customers to know if the product is a right fit for us. DCS mandates this but I can understand why it's a bit more difficult in MSFS. While I do know this is a touchy subject it also helps reduce piracy in a way.

I still jump in every now and then and will when SU3 is released just to see how things are progressing, looking forward to improvements but as ever I take everything they say in these Q&As with a massive pinch of salt 🙂 Pico Neo3 Link VR - Windows 11 64bit, Gigabyte Z590 Aorus Elite Mobo, i7-10700KF CPU, Gigabyte RX 9070 XT OC 16gb (AMD GPU), 32gig Corsair 3600mhz RAM, SSD x2 + M.2 SSD 1tb x1 Saitek X45 HOTAS - Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals - Logitech Flight Yoke - Homemade 3 Button & 8-directional Joystick Box, SNES Controller (used as a Button Box - Additional USB Numpad (used as a Button Box)

July 24, 2025Jul 24 So, what is actually going to be improved in SU3? Most of the more serious issues are postponed to SU4? - Harry 9800x3D (Strix x870e-E) - 64GB RAM (DDR5 6000, CL 30) - RTX 5090, 34'' 1440p OLED HDR - Windows 11 Pro (1TB M.2) - MSFS 2024 (MS Store, 4TB M.2).

There has been so much stuff that I can't remember, or don't care about, or don't even understand what it is, and there have been a lot of things that have been fixed because they broke them first anyway, but for me it is the little things like the new realistic strobes and emissive lights at last. It least it is going in the right direction, and they are trying, even if things are moving at a snails pace. Not sure if there are many people with the same opinion as me, but the things I look for are stability, optimisation, and completion of the features list. I am looking forward to SU4 if they are looking to try to unload the main thread again. More backwards compatibility would be good as well, because Jorg's promise of 'the vast majority of addons from 2020 will work straight out of the box in 2024' hasn't quite worked out, and that has left a sour taste in the mouth of a lot of people. That and the poor launch has destroyed a degree of trust. Some developers like Just Flight have supported their customers, but others are making us pay again to bring a product in to 2024. And don't say it is because of 'extra functionality' - what? For being able to remove some chocks? Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio. I dare say stability is high on many peoples lists judging by the sheer number of CTD posts here there and everywhere, optimisation more for VR users as we've struggled badly with this title so far whereas 2D users seem to have it very good with the myriad of various performance enhancers(!), current features need fixing up but as far as I'm concerned the whole Career aspect should be an ever evolving aspect so that's never "complete" so to speak. Other features than can be defined as complete though and those that should've been before release then yes they're up there, but this whole area is seemingly going to wait until post SU4 anyway and that's fine by me. The mess they released is less messy than it was 9months ago, they've done good work in some areas but there's still a way to go before I can forgive them for selling me a lie last year....the sucker that I am 🤪 Pico Neo3 Link VR - Windows 11 64bit, Gigabyte Z590 Aorus Elite Mobo, i7-10700KF CPU, Gigabyte RX 9070 XT OC 16gb (AMD GPU), 32gig Corsair 3600mhz RAM, SSD x2 + M.2 SSD 1tb x1 Saitek X45 HOTAS - Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals - Logitech Flight Yoke - Homemade 3 Button & 8-directional Joystick Box, SNES Controller (used as a Button Box - Additional USB Numpad (used as a Button Box)
