  • Fenix.... never change.   Months of silence, then a video that speaks of a release on Tues- or Wednesday and then release one day earlier on a Monday.   That's how it's done. 👏

Fantastic update! Fenix now has the same performance as PMDG.
Just one detail that doesn't seem realistic to me: during takeoff, when the plane leaves the runway, the CFM engine noise (whine) gets too loud. Then, as you climb, the sound decreases.

The iae version is perfect instead

I wonder is that not intentional (not tested myself) due to acoustics etc?

I am enchanted with the CFM 319SL. Very grateful for this comprehensive update!

Is there a way to have VATSIM ATIS be visible and selectable if present- without downselecting in the EFB first? It would be brilliant to have an annunciation if ATC is present with ATIS on the ARR Page of the EFB.

I totally agree Carl!  I have not tried the new Baby Shark yet, but this update has put the Airbus family on equal footing for my preference to fly Boeings! 😊

Fenix gave us basically a whole new set of aircraft for free...and the native 2024 models and other 2024 features make this, hands down, the best aircraft in MSFS2024!

I'm currently taking an Allegiant A320 from Destin, FL to Lexington KY on flight 3113.

The sunrise departure was just epic, and the new textures are the best I've seen!   The weathering on the glareshield is fantastic and the panel's clarity are crystal clear.

Here is my favorite livery by @Jviation  I'm using for this flight...just stunning work as always by Jordan. (I've visited the Clearwater Aquarium and seen Winter....what a great story and perfect Logo to wrap an airplane with to represent the Tampa/Clearwater hub.

Fantastic update Fenix!   Very much appreciated.

Not being sarcastic, but are you a real world pilot ? I’m not so I really have no idea what it’s supposed to sound like in the cockpit. Can other r/w pilots confirm?

I'm tracking some issues with the CFM soundset, will try to get some fixes into the first patch!

Excellent!

I don't know if you were aware but the dome light has no effect on the lighting in the cockpit, the light comes on when selecting bright or dim but no effect.

This is expected in 2024. Right now, the value you need for lights to be visible during the day is say, "150,000" but at night that same visual brightness is only a value of "50". This is a pain because it means we either pick the right value for day and have the lights blow the monitor apart at the seams during the night, or set for night time, and accept during the day things will be barely, if it all, visible.

We did try setting to the day value, and then attenuating them based on ambient brightness data the sim sends, which works (crudely), however we can't set the values with the granularity required: even 1% of 150,000 is 1500, not 50.

Microsoft have said they're aware and will be trying to implement something to make this easier to work with going forward, I'm not sure what timeline.

Anyone having issues with the BFU and SU3 on msfs2024 ?

I was using the Fenix yesterday before the update and everything was running smoothly. After installing the BFU, i encountered severe stuttering while boarding with GSX and then just a huge stutterfest. I restarted the sim, then same issue. I deleted EDDH (Simwings add-on ) and loaded into the default airport, but same issues. I figured, it must be something with msfs and that airport, I moved over to ESSA (ORBX), which I know runs well, but sure enough I encountered the same problem. I deactivated both GSX and SayIntentions, but still, I have this stutter. More precisely, every time, the GPU is stuttering heavily, alternating between 15ms and 60ms per frame. VRAM 8-10 GB / 13GB.

I then loaded at the same airport but with the inibuilds A350, using GSX and SayIntentions, and it's running butter smooth.

9800X3D, 64G RAM, 16G VRAM, 9070 XT

I haven't yet tried SU2 or reinstalling Fenix completely, that's next I guess.

Is there a chance photo mode will get looked at for the patch? The aircraft still loads in floating above the ground with the wing bent upwards. No idea if that’s a quick fix or not but would be amazing to be able to take some nice pictures of this wonderful aircraft!
