MSFS 2024 SU4 Beta 1.6.15.0

Featured Replies

This beta needs more time yet, still major performance issues on the ground, mouse and VR controllers not working correctly is a major regression issues that needs fixing before public release at least, nuclear lighting of POIs, frame rate limiter still broken etc etc

Plenty of reports on the official forums, plenty still to do.

Absolutely ridiculous.

Well…that’s what beta testing is for.  If it all worked as you desired/expected it would be a Release Candidate not a Beta Release.  Patience grasshopper, we’ll get there.

As if everything worked in non-beta releases 🤣

Thanks @virtualstuff @carlito777 and @MarcG for providing some useful answers and feedback there.

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

hm was doing LPMA to EGSS in the iFly, sim crashed about an hour in

Even with the new optimizations I still think you're asking a lot of the sim to run VR smoothly with a 8GB video card

There's chat around many of the default aircraft yet to receive updates that Jorg mentioned in the Q&A are coming to SU4 (apparently, I haven't watched that bit myself), so that kinda suggests there's still at least one more update at least.

All I can say is this latest beta release is awesome as far as performance goes. Low and slow graphics is sharp as a knife. High and fast is the same. Asobo is moving in the right direction. I'm lovin it.

I have zero issues with SU4 beta, lucky guy I suppose.

Same here. I'm beginning to think that folks with all these problems need to start looking at how they've set up their sim.

There are issues confirmed by multiple people over in the official beta forums

MSFS2020 was at this stage at one time, and look at it now. I'm sure MSFS2024 will get there eventually. Naturally some people are going to have problems with it, just like some people are still having problems with MSFS2020. Trash talking about the sim is not going to help make it better. Trying it and reporting issues to the right forums will help get it to where you think it should be. But it doesn't happen overnight. Many "fixes" aren't as simple as it may seem to fix a problem. One line of code to fix an issue can break another line of code creating a different problem. Sims are very complex, and there is so much interaction between so many different parts of the sim. Thanks to all the beta testers out there who continue to use the sims and actually report issues so that the sims get fixed. Those are the testers who understand that some issues take longer to get fixed than others do. If it weren't for beta testers, I'm sure MSFS2020 wouldn't be as good and as stable as it is now, if it would have even been released by now. If it weren't for beta testers, you'd probably still be on P3D or FSX. I'm happy that you are HAPPY with MSFS2020. So why do you feel the need to complain about MSFS2024? I'm a beta tester using both 2020 AND 2024, and I am VERY HAPPY with MSFS2024!! And it keeps on getting better and better, thanks to all the people who use it and report issues. If we all complained about its problems or issues, we wouldn't see much progress with it.

Since yesterday i am seeing ctd after some time. During flight the sim Starts to stutter for second 2-3 times and then bang, ctd without any error. The faulte Module seems to be the grammar.pggmod.

Yup, totally agree.

I had the day off today, so I set up a flight from ENVA (Trondheim) to EFRO (Rovaniemi) - both addon airports - in the Black Square TBM 850 + the GTNXiPro from TDS + Rex Atmos Beta + Beyond ATC

Buttery smooth flight from take off to touch down, even with the TDS Garmin unit, which is quite heavy on performance. Lots of clouds and precipitation flying out of Trondheim.

Was fairly windy on approach to Rovaniemi, so a lot of rudder work was required.

I did notice a couple of blurry ground tiles at around 500 above, but nothing that had me reaching for the smelling salts.

Even Beyond ATC performed quite well and gave me fairly decent descent instructions and vectors for an ILS approach.

All in all, I think MSFS 2024 is a winner at this point.

not mentioned in the patch notes, but they seem to have touched up the 747, including actually allowing the nose door to open the Freighter variant.

from someone on the forums

"Engines no longer disappear, less bugs, better perf, no covers at start, beacon light fixed (from prev beta)."
