November 1, 2025Nov 1 Have to say, I was wrong about Active Sky. But it really improves weather accuracy, especially at your departure and arrival airport, and the weather loading in between is much improved (compared to previous versions I owned). Plus, it simulates cloud turbulence, which the default Asobo weather doesn't really do. Thumbs up from me. It's now part of every flight (although the interface could use a bit of a face lift).

November 1, 2025Nov 1 Moderator I've been using it for years - just doesn't look and feel the same when I fly without it. RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
November 1, 2025Nov 1 It is nice indeed . I will try it in passive mode as well as i do like the default clouds. Anyone have CB clouds from 10 to 40000 feet with ASFS? Michael Moe Michael Moe
November 1, 2025Nov 1 Been using ActiveSky for years every single flight. I wouldn't fly without this amazing gem. Chris Howard
November 1, 2025Nov 1 Love it. Got since release and can't fly without. Settings, simbrief integration, turbulence in the clouds (as stated above), setting fog etc and it works nicely with atmos. November 1, 2025Nov 1 As long as it is unable to depict weatherfronts without this stupid transition, sadly a no-go for me. As in Europe, weatherfronts is the dominant appearance of weather. The default weather has its flaws but seeing a overcast front approaching on a otherwise almost clear sky with NO transition is way more immersive. For turbulence I use RealTurb. November 1, 2025Nov 1 Thumbs up over here, as well. Default weather, too many times, doesn't depict the weather realistically. i7-13700KF @ 5.3GHz 32.0GB DDR5 @ 5600 RTX 3080 65" LG OLED @ 4k

Newsflash: AS does show weather fronts, allows smoothing depiction and does have turbulence in clouds. Opinion: It's pretty clear you don't even own active sky. 7800+4090+64ram Just Flight RJ, 146 and F28, Piper Arrows ---A2A Aerostar and Comanche---Black Square Starship, Duke(s), TBM, Bonanza/BaronV2, KingAir---FSReborn FSR500---COWS Da42---FX P180, HJet & VJet---FlySimWare Chancellor and LearJet---FlightSimStudio EMB175 &P2006T---Fenix 320---PMDG DC6, 737(700+900), 777---C22J---Milviz Cessna 310 & Porter---SimWorksStudios Kodiak, PC12, Zenith & RV14---BigRadials Goose---IndiaFoxEcho MB3339+F35.
November 1, 2025Nov 1 For those of you that are users, I have a question: While using Activesky, do you "encounter" the weather as you fly? or does it form and dissolve around you as you fly? (Like previous versions in previous sims). Juan Ramos
November 1, 2025Nov 1 Yes my biggest issue was how it just builds the weather around you. Has that changed? Is it better now at doing a global (or very large at least) model? 9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen

November 1, 2025Nov 1 Commercial Member I'm using it sometimes in FS2020. Does it behaves the same? Current system: ASUS PRIME Z690-P D4, Intel 12900k, 32GB RAM @ 3600mhz, Zotac RTX 3090 Trinity, M2 SSD, Oculus Quest 2.
