That's a major constraint and would genuinely have put me off from purchasing had I known. I own all FSR addons and enjoy them. But I'm very surprised that this development decision was made. I hope they can reconsider and address this.

It could be a bug and not intentional. I suspect it is not intentional. The way Raul is, it's either a bug or he could add a switch in the EFB to allow operation both ways. You could bring it up on Discord.

I have to be careful when things are reversed in the sim like the VS wheel. I know it sounds daft but I fly , or at least manipulate the controls on my simulator aircraft more than I do on my real world jet (typically between 1 & 3 TOs and landings per month on long haul)so it’s very easy to pick up bad habits or bad muscle memory from the sim.

I had to slap myself once when I found myself taxying a real 747 with just the rudder pedals without thinking , I mean it’s fine, it’s got rudder pedal steering , but it’s easy to slip into sim mental mode when it’s the majority.

I’ve since bought myself a sim steering tiller and been kicked off the 747 so no need to be alarmed.

I’m rather fond of the DCS C-130 where tiller steering is available via button clicks (I don’t fly enough tiller steered addons to justify a physical purchase).

Sounds as bad as brakes on buttons, BUT They programmed it so that it’s not a binary engagement, but rather a slow increase of deflection while the key is held, and once released, the tiller just as gradually returns to center.

Where I’d never be able to tolerate brakes on a buttons, this progressive engagement delivers a surprisingly natural experience.

From videos I watch, I'd say it's probably close to 50/50.

But this isn't a minor point. I'd guess that people who use lock and are used to it, really wouldn't want to switch to Legacy. And those (like myself and Farlis) who use Legacy, won't just switch to the Lock mode, when flying this plane.

This is a stupid issue within the MSFS 2024 SDK--iniBuilds ran into the same issue with the A350, but they eventually worked around it. I'm not sure how. I hope Raul can do the same.

I find Lock very annoying and as this bird is only available from marketplace looks like I will have to tone down my initial excitement about its release.

That's what I'm hoping.

I love FSR and Raul's work and I'm only moaning about this because everything else about the Phenom is so good. I want to be able to use and enjoy it.

I'd really like to hear what @simbol has to say about any issues raised on this thread. Raul was an integral part of this community and I actually miss his expertise.

I get the whole Discord dislike thing, really I do. I can't stand it either, and in an ideal world I'd be able to stay away. But in today's sim world there is just too much valuable stuff there and I'd only be punishing myself if I didn't at least read what's available. I doubt I'll ever be an active participant on anyone's Discord, but I do go there. Yes, I wish Raul still participated here, but he doesn't and there's a lot of great info on the Phenom on FSReborn's Discord you miss out on by not at least looking.

Well, activity in the official FSR discord has surely exploded since the Phenom released, so he rightly is focusing his limited time on supporting customers that are using official channels.

Ive been. Working with computers for 35 years and I still dont get Discord. Beyond the basic I cant get anywhere on that blasted thing.

I know it's hard to accept for some but forums for support are on their way out. Discord is the future. Just learn to live with it.
