Surely if the aircraft doesn't take the wind into account that is a pain for atc so how do they compensate that irl. Surely in winter season you aren't requesting RNP every single time. If you just want to fly from A to B and always have a completely predictable flight then, yea, failures really don't matter. But I over time want to learn all the aspects of the plane and that is how I see value in it. MSFS 2024. Sunday at 01:49 AM5 days I’m not understanding what it means that it doesn’t account for wind. Once you capture the localizer beam, wouldn’t the aircraft just lock on and follow it? Or would a cross wind blow it off the localizer?Aircraft have been able to track a localizer for many decades, it would be odd if a modern aircraft couldn’t. If there is a crosswind pushing the aircraft onto the localizer, it sounds as if it may overshoot; conversely, if there is a crosswind pushing the aircraft away from the localizer, it may be sluggish to intercept. For this reason, it appears that crews are choosing to remain in LNAV until the aircraft is on the final approach course, and only then switch to approach mode. Or they may simply request an RNP approach in the first place.

So, yes, stay in NAV until your pretty much on the course, then arm the APPR. It's not like Boeing or Airbus where you can just fly an intercept and it will grab the loc. Otherwise, do RNAV, much easier as long as you're within mins. :-) Edited Sunday at 07:22 AM5 days by Jeff Nielsen Jeff D. Monday at 08:55 PM4 days Also be aware that the 100 and ACJ is now going to be a paid product and not a free update as has been promised through the whole development.Ini has gone back and edited its April 2025 development update to reflect this change, and is now included on Synaptic's FAQ page.According to Ini the Synaptic devs dropped this on them today.Have to admit I find this somewhat of a bait and switch the day before release after very publicly proclaiming for years it would be a free update, and then not even having the courage to make a proper announcement to let people know but sliding it into an FAQ section and then going back to edit already posted information. Not great behaviour in my humble opinion.

Kinda word not allowed me off seeing as it is being very hyped up. I think I'll sit this one out for a bit and see how the release, updates, comms etc go and maybe buy it in the future. Tuesday at 05:34 AM3 days I too find this off-putting, particularly the bit about changing an old forum post. That rubs me the wrong way.I was in the day one camp, but I'm now also going to wait and see.
Tuesday at 07:32 AM3 days Wow, that seems disingenuous at best. Might have to reconsider. Don’t really want to reward this behavior. Formally screen name was Alex_YSSY until the forum software ate my account ^_^

The devs immediately responded back by saying "cost" as the prime reason. They also mentioned that work required on 100 and ACJ was significant and simply it turned out to be a completely new product in all, They wanted to ship all together in one product but overall purchase price would have been significantly higher. However the only additional differences they mentioned are Cabin with accurate configuration, Fully integrated HUD, Functional steep approach capability, Fully functional circuit breakers throughout electrical and avionics bay and obviously 100 and ACJ variants. They also said that these features will be updated free of charge to 300 variant when 100/ACJ releases. However no indication of failures support. Edited Tuesday at 09:37 AM3 days by CAP1234
Tuesday at 10:22 AM3 days Commercial Member Well my take is that the price of everything in the world is going up hugely, very very quickly. What was correct when announced in April 2025 may be wildly out now given the rising cost of everything from electricity, rents, wages etc. People need to stop taking it personally.Could Synaptic have handled the PR a bit better though? Maybe, but equally no one has spent any money on it yet - if the price is too much you're free to not spend your money. It's not like they sold three variants and only gave you one.
