  3. I really enjoy BATC and its ability to make something out of my broken readbacks in (often) any order, but amazingly it always works. Even more so because of my old cracking voice. This morning the controller got a little irritated when I was at the hold short line: "Noo, I need the runway", or something like that, lol.
  4. Well nearly, for example it occasionally gives me the AGPED(?) arrival into Edinburgh followed by the TLA transition (either runway), which does not work and would NEVER happen. It's also assigned me runways that don't exist in MSFS, but do in the Airac (EIDW is a good example). That said I use it to take over if BATC looses the plot (or doesn't get the plot in the first place), and that works well... G

  6. Like many others have said, BATC is full of bugs. But for some reason it “feels good.” The parts it gets right are very immersive (requiring ATIS, clearances, taxi and takeoff.) But it falls WAY apart at approach. To the point that I can’t complete a flight with it (too tight vectors, flying you into mountains, keeping you too high on approach, vectoring for a visual in MVFR conditions, too small runway for plane, etc.) But I really enjoy it. Can’t explain it! So, I use it until it gives me a vector that makes no sense or tells me to descend to 3,000, then 8,000, then 3,000 again within 30 seconds. Then I turn it off and finish the flight with no ATC. Hoping that the bugs get squashed. But, as someone mentioned earlier in the thread, there is no ticket system and their Discord is hot mess. So I post the issues and hope SOMEONE is reading them. But… it’s so fun. Lol
  7. As a recent user of this in VR, I feel that stopping injection has helped in reducing stutters, though I have not been able to test enough. I use Virtual Desktop with 36 frames locked SSW on. I’m going to try increasing my max aircraft limit to 50 parking / 50 active and as I enter VR for taxi and just before descent, I’m going to enable the limit injection to 37 frames. Hopefully this should work as it can inject aircraft in the period in between ie. Climb / Cruise to Descent and NOT when I’m actually in VR. If there are enough aircraft already active, the arrival airport should feel alive regardless of no injection. This is all just theory though. Has anyone tried this in VR?
  8. I struggle with trim in all aircraft and haven’t found a good solution yet. Been using the hat switch mostly, but it’s not ideal. The aircraft (only flown the Grand Duke so far) seem to require a LOT of nose down trim as she accelerates to max speed. I usually end up trimming either too much, or not enough (holding the hat switch). Attitude hold and climb/descent is not too bad using the mouse scroll wheel to interact with the knob on the AP panel.

  10. I have gone to using BATC with AIG and AI Flow and AI Ground. Of course it doesn't yet control traffic, but I can't use FSHud as long as I keep running into the SimConnect issue. I'd be very interested to hear how it goes. That sounds like it may be the same issue I'm experiencing. Definitely worth a try.
  11. Dear fellow pilots, When I started my MSFS this weekend, nothing happened. It won't launch. No error message, nothing. Last time there was no problem at all. Windows update, Xbox app update, log in again. Reinstall MSFS several times. Install via store, install via Xbox app. Nothing seems to help. I think I have tried all the suggestions on the internet. \ What is strange is that MSFS installs the 2 GB, but cannot start the MSFS. I do see under programs that MSFS (standard) is installed and also digital proof of ownership. But in the windows store msfs is not visible and in the x box app it is visible, but is shown as not installed. Does anyone have any ideas what else I can try before I have to reinstall Windows altogether? Greetings Matthieu.
  12. Yes, I can fully understand that this is appealing. Personally for me that doesn't outweigh the lack of traffic control in BATC though. But that is just personal preference. Do I wish FSHud would have these voices (and for no extra costs)? Do I wish BATC would have the traffic control capabilities of FSHud? Yes, absolutely! But for now we have to make our choices.
  13. Ivona voices are much better, but they still sound like TTS voices unfortunately. No comparison to premium AI voices. After experiencing those in BATC going back to TTS feels like going back from MSFS to P3D. A bit hyperbole, I know, but that's how it feels for me.

  16. Some of the BATC voices are a tad "aggressive", yes, but the immersion is on another level with Premium voices. Really hard to explain if you haven't experienced it yourself. It lets you almost forget it's a robot you're talking to 😄
  17. Hey Vic: We haven't heard from Father Bill i' emailed him with no response. The area where he lives has been battered with storms, and tornadoes. I hope he is ok..These guys are part of the glue that keeps our Avsim family together..
  18. Yes, there are lots of different regional accents in PF3. The quality of the voices will always be in the eye (ear) of the beholder. I always found the PF3 voices fine, just as I find the FSHud voices fine. The BATC voices are different of course, but still their quality is subjective. For example from what I heard in videos to me the BATC voices sound like ATC is aggressively yelling at you for no apparent reason most of the time.
  19. Well P2ATC works for every airport and every procedure, so it's possible. However P2ATC has been in development for 10+ years, so it will take time for BATC to get there (much faster though, since the sales and manpower are much higher). Apart from that I agree with what you said: E.g. P2ATC is a much more mature ATC in regards to vectors, descents etc., but the complete experience with B2ATC is so slick - almost Vatsim like - that it just feels good, even if things break here and there. The only reason why I'm holding back on buying more premium time on BATC after using up the initial 50000 characters is that it still lacks Active Sky integration. Flying at the appropriate time of day with the appropriate weather has become so important to me since ASFS released that I cannot let that go. So I'm still using P2ATC for those non-live flights. But once/if BATC integrates Active Sky... I can't keep myself coming back to P2ATC. And BATC is going to get better and better day after day (slowly but steady).

  21. It's a bit diffcult tackling complex projects like a FSHUD equivalent for XP12 as the sim is a bit of a moving target. The next major update may just as well fix major grievances with AI and ATC, invalidating all the effort spent on making a third party plugin.   22. Regarding my trim issue I figured it out, mostly. Yoke button single click trim is precise and makes small changes. Holding the button down makes the trim wheel spin fast as if the repeat rate was set at 10 (at least) clicks per second. Once I realised this I could make use smaller 'burst' trim alterations. Wish there was some way I could turn the repeat rate down to about 5 clicks a second so I could just hold the button down until it was dialled in. People asking about AP pitch change (descents/climbs). Yes without IAS option this is indeed fiddly without a hardware IN-SIM default assignment available for the console switch. I tried pitch authority up and down but that must have been for another variable. The manual states NOTE: A hidden clickspot on the right of the altitude selector can be used to adjust the attitude holding pitch in lieu of using the pitch knob on the autopilot control panel.. I haven't mastered that yet but I will figure it out. I wouldn't mind an actual small pitch dial placed up there even if it wasn't realistic. With no V/S or IAS Ap modes controlling climbs and descents quickly and accurately is only issue I have with the plane now. Still using factory B60 until I have it under complete control!
  23. It's really strange that some get these stutter issues while others don't. This is just a shot in the dark: Did you try to edit your simconnect.xml and change all the "MaxClients" values to something higher, like 256? That solved connectivity issues I had with other apps before.
  24. I was just thinking the other day, that we'll have Tornado GR1's (two of them, sort of) but now we need a Jaguar... So neat seeing SEPECAT Jaguar's taking off from grass fields. Those big stalky landing gear bouncing along.
