RyanLooking at all that ice, it popped up a question or two in my mind, I hope it is not something you are not allowed to say. How is the icing done? Visually and in systems/FD? For example, having the icing build up like I saw on JS41(I don't own it, but I've seen screenies), would it be visible on a 737? And on the windshield? If we let the plane ice up parked on the gate, will it show? Will it affect the plane more than what we have in a default 737? Finally, but just curiosity, will the 737 have that nice light that seems to be popping-up in the new payware planes? Dynamic light, that actually lights up ahead. thanks once again for all the replies Ryan! Ricardo de Paula

Hi,Looking great!!!!As you've modeled EGPWS, have you modeled the WX RADAR as well? Would be great if you have!!!As for the HUD - I think it is the AoA indicator? Maybe it actually behaves as it should?Best regards,Robin.

Has anyone ever done an altitude trend vector before? Bit of a stab in the dark but I can't recall ever having seen one before on an FS aircraft!
Nick -Yes, I've done one haha. Guess it's something else. Big%20Grin.gifSeeing your name makes me think you might know one of the aircraft that has avionics featuring an alt trend, see here or here. :(sig.gif

Guys you are amazing - thank you very much for the update, I nearly wet my keyboard with drool coming out of my mouth :(

best regards,

Hi GuysLove the shots :( Just could'nt help thinking to myself are we going to get a ORBX Boeing field airport(KBFI) for our new Boeing 737 NGX purchase! :( So I can fly her from KBFI to EGAA (Belfast)on her maiden voyage :( Joe Park

Dear PMDG-TeamThe pictures you've shown are absolutely amazing! I think you gonna set a new benchmark in the FS-World :-)As I read the post of Mr Randazzo I noticed the outstanding detail in SIMULATION implemented in the NGX. So I concluded that you must have developed a dynamic model of all the physical processes and dependencies (e.g. temperatur behaviour in the cabin). Is there a possibility that you can explain the simulation-part a bit more in detail?Best regardsManuel Waltert

There's something else of major note in that last shot too besides the terrain... something no one's been able to do in FS until now. tongue.gif
I'm going to guess... variable backlighting? :)CheersNick Jones

Unbelievable! Those exterior shots are awesome! The wing views are next to reality, lovely!

Dang it! Thought I was being smart there tongue.gif

I'd never noticed that on the cirrus! If anyone'd like to donate me a few hundred thousand dollars to buy one I'd greatly appreciate it!

Nice work, but one question pops in my mind: Will the performance be so good as she looks or do we have to have an 4,5+Ghz SB CPU to get her running like the "old" one in FS9?
they said before that it'll behave framerate wise better than some of their previous aircraft.

Thanks, Ryan, for the heads up. I really was hoping to be proven wrong!

Erik, Really, its the camera angle in the sim when the shot was taken. Lets just for once support and thank the people that take the time to bring us such realism and detail to our hobby...! Keep up the great work and thanks for keeping us up to-date. I'm about to see a SWA depart right now can 't wait to fly her in FSX!

is any livery ready? we would love to see airliner samples.
There are some liveries done, we just wanted to show it first in the house livery. Soon.

We aren't going to be able to simulate icing on this - we've already hit the hard-coded FSX limit for model animations and the features that are using them are a lot more important than some visual icing is. Icing (weather in general really) can't affect the flight model realistically in FSX... it's really just a visual thing even in the J41. Inflight icing isn't nearly as big a concern on a big jet like this as it is on a turboprop either - there's very good anti-ice systems on the plane and they're always on by Boeing SOP when icing is even possible. We'll be showing off the night lighting shortly, I don't think anyone is going to be disappointed on that front, it looks amazing.

Our long standing position on WX radar remains the same - EGPWS was possible to do in FSX, realistic radar is not. The terrain is a much better feature at least as far as FS is concerned - the weather can't really hurt you in FS, but the terrain certainly can. Believe me, if we could do it we would, there's already a whole host of firsts happening on this airplane that people have said aren't possible in FSX, but weather radar isn't one of them. We've researched this exhaustively, the engine just doesn't work in a way that would allow us to simulate it correctly.

Every system in the airplane is dynamic like this, yes. It's done using some very advanced mathematical modelling, gas/fluid dynamics etc. We'll get into much more detail on this in a future post and we'll probably make some videos highlighting all the neat things you can do with the systems. Ever seen duct temperature warnings on the ground in Phoenix or Las Vegas in the summer in an FS addon? You will now, and not just some sort of simple "read the outside air temperature, turn on warning" type of thing - it's a real heat diffusion and dissipation model that takes the ambient temperature, the airflow through the duct system, etc into account to determine the temperature that exists moment to moment.

1. Those are actually grease marks, not stretched textures. I'll take a close up pic of the wheel later so you can see. That's how it looked on the real NG we photographed for the textures.2. Our model is made using the actual Boeing engineering diagrams and dimensions - if our model's wrong, their blueprints are too. We'll double check it, but I really think this is just a matter of the camera angle, possible warping from displaying a 3D object on a 2D screen etc.It looks much more like your pics here:NGX_External_Preview_013.jpg
