I rarely ever post nowadays, because for some reason I find most of the stuff on my mind as being repetitive anyway, with regard to what has already been said. Regarding the NGX almost everything has been said already when it comes to expectations and also when it comes to praise for the product in question.Having said this, I still want to add something that people should consider. Reading Rob's post on FPS put some fuel on fire :).I think what is clearly seen here, on this forum, is positive enthusiasm over a product that will surely break ground in many ways. But what is also seen is the endless chain of requests and demands and, without a better word: concern (about the product).People are "concerned" constantly over if it will have proper sounds, proper lights, best frames, faultless polygons on flap fairings, a populated cabin, internal sounds in wingviews, this or that airline option, a realistic balloon hanging from the tail or not.... And the list goes on. Some even brought up the fact that the plane might be "too good" now, that there are details that "I don't need".I am just thinking that reading the feature lists by PMDG staff, and then reading some of the posts here... that for heaven's sake people, just sit back and wait. Don't you think that they would know by now what is expected? They are making their best plane so far, if I'm reading all the cues right, so the constant "pressure" from some of the readers is I think if not idiotic, then maybe just "very unnecessary" to be polite. At this point I would sit back and relax and wait patiently for whatever comes out of the pipeline. It takes some time, but so what. No matter how much you repeat your requests, it'll not speed it up or make the product any better. Maybe I am guessing wrong, but I suspect that some of the people might be just so young that they don't recognize what it takes to create this kind of stuff out of thin air. People should start to show a little more respect towards groups doing quality MSFS stuff, for it's a long and bumpy road to do something like this. I would probably be a lot stricter forum mod, if I was supervising here. Discussion is OK, but sometimes I think that people don't think at all.Tero P
Nah, "Tero P" (full-name signatures are required on this particular forum, BTW), I must disagree with you on this. It's an open forum full of all kinds of views, questions, concerns, etc. I think the PMDG team can spot which are silly, outlandish, "misguided", flat-out-wrong, on their own. Pretty sharp guys, this PMDG team, from what I've seen from their posts and answers to ALL questions asked.I don't believe in censoring (particularly when it comes to "the young", as you put it. I admire the guts it takes a young person to post on these forums! Some are ridiculed mercilessly for asking simple questions - which is shameful conduct in my book. I happily answer the simplest questions from any member - as I'm certain PMDG does - as they are the future of the hobby and should be welcomed and helped every step of the way), nor do believe in heavy-handed moderating. Let people spout whatever they like - as long as the post complies with the essential civility and decorum rules of AVSIM (on this point, I brook no exceptions and, I am heartened to see, neither does AVSIM).I say "let 'em all speak". Sometimes, a "gem" of an idea comes out of an otherwise silly post.I guess, bottom-line, is I know that I can filter "the wheat from the chaff" here, so I don't have a problem with all the admittedly, um, "unusual" posts that appear. I just ignore those. But as you rightly say, if it's not for you - please, by all means, just sit back, watch, and enjoy the discussion!Cheers!Pat

What? All this pressure is powering their hydraulics.Seriously, I agree with you. What happens, happens, and we'll enjoy it anyway.

I'm not going to search through 27 pages to see if it's been brought up but Hiroshi Igami and I (both ex-POSKY) have spotted a few errors...- Copilot side pitot tubes are angled the wrong way, need to be mirrored (they're just flipped) so they angle more up, not down- 737's with eyebrow windows do not have vortex generators on the nose.. (http://alturl.com/vyr55 , http://alturl.com/3s99m)- AoA sensors will never point full down, IIRC they only go from 30 degrees up to 30 degrees downOther than that, basing off the pics in the first page, the aircraft is coming along nicely, and I love the VC textures and gauges.
On the last one I can partially agree, I've never seen one pointing exactly down. But, as one of the PMDG developers stated, their model is built according to the Boeing documents, and they've asked (in this topic) not to post questions/remarks like this anymore.

Really? Seriously now... c'mon. Comments like that are bordering the rediculous.

Guys,I am not on a popularity contest here. You can think what you like, but I just wanted to say that in my opinion some people (not all, obviously) are a bit out of touch, when it comes to the product that they are soon getting their hands on. What I mean by this is that the expectations anyone here sets for the PMDG team will never be able to exceed the expectations they have set for themselves. Remember that they are also partnering with Boeing on this project, which in itself should be a precursor for something out of the ordinary. And about the openness of this forum. It might be open in a way that it can be accessed by anyone registered at Avsim, but it's still a closed and moderated venue to preview their products. As "SK8RBOI7478i" noted, I myself violated some of the rules of this "open" forum by not signing my full name. So he himself acknowledges it's regulated.Maybe I am posting because I am just amazed at all the questions and wonderings about when the evidence otherwise would suggest that maybe this time I don't have to be worried about, if it'll have "my favorite feature" included. Chances are, it will.Tero Partanen

Just my two cents. In order to save time to everyone, maybe a specific 737 NGX FAQ pinned topic would be useful ?This won't avoid people asking same questions, but it would certainly decrease this.
An FAQ topic would be really welcome. That would save a lot of our time so that we wouldn't need to answer the same questions every day.

Hi there,

I'm not going to search through 27 pages to see if it's been brought up but Hiroshi Igami and I (both ex-POSKY) have spotted a few errors...- Copilot side pitot tubes are angled the wrong way, need to be mirrored (they're just flipped) so they angle more up, not down- 737's with eyebrow windows do not have vortex generators on the nose.. 1. I think the textures PMDG have presented are insanely accurate, for goodness sake they've said on more than once that they're using the Boeing blue prints!2. Complete rubbish, I know this because I am an SFO with several thousand hours flying the real B738, our 737's do not have eyebrow windows and have the vortex generators on the nose, I see them on a daily basis.3. The AOA sensors do point full down on the ground when there is no airflow, ie the aircraft is not moving, noticed this loads of times doing the walk around.I know PMDG have experts on their team but if anyone has any B738 questions I am more than happy to answer when i'm around, but bear in mind it might take a while as i'm working flat out the next 5 days:-)Hope this helps,Regards,James
I'm suprised we haven't seen this before in the PMDG wiki or as a sticky in the forum.
