Flight one Cessna T182T released

the price is too high for me as an individual for a mere set of flying textures (even if it sport a custom G1000) :Big Grin:luckily there are more immersive add-ons for pretty much same price.. or better. We kinda got spoiled last couple o months, that made most of us much more selective shoppers..
Immersive is in the eye of the beholder...I can see someone saying that they do not want to buy it because it isnot their cup of tea.. But claiming that other addons are more immersive, without having flown it, blows my mind..I'll say it one more time: Semi-Professional quality costs money, everywhere you look.If this is the kind of airplane you would like to fly, with the G1000 avionics installedand operational, and if you have a computer that can handle it (two big IFs!), you'vegot a quality airplane waiting for you.If not, OK.. There are indeed lots of other airplanes to choose from - but "flying textures" this one aint!

I bought it as soon as the Flight1 Simforums announced it being available. A very accurate depiction of the turbo 182 and G1000 system. I flew from KHIO to KRBG last night and very closely recreated the flight I had done in real life with the G1000 equipped Diamond DA40. Such a joy to have a realistic depiction of the G1000 rather than the "kinda looks like a G1000" found in default and other add ons touting the G1000 (the Mustang also delivers on this count with an accurate depiction of how that system works in a different application with individualized pages for the aircraft). And $50, less than a third of the cost I spent a month ago just to shoot three landings and takeoffs in the Diamond just to keep my currency and we didn't even get to enjoy the features of the real G1000 on that flight! Add ons such as this one have saved me literally thousands in real world training expenses because of the familiarity I can achieve in the comfort and safety of my own home learning the systems and practicing the procedures. To address the price argument, frankly if $50 is too much than any expense spent on a fantasy/entertainment product is too much. It amazes me the people I meet that complain about not having enough money yet they spend countless hours in front of a computer wasting their life away with some game.
Absolutely. No matter how much I spent on AddOns, it is nothing compared to what I saved in flight training by needing less time to get into a plane and get it going right.Things like the G100 in the Mustang, RealityXP 530 etc...I will probably buy this later on, but I'd really like know whether at least Airway support will be added with an update...

Strange logic. I have a budget for FSX addons, and $50 is a good chunk out of that. I wasn't aware until I read your post that this made me a loser ...

Your words not mine. Don't bait an argument you can't win.

Are we really calling each other names and getting testy over an add-on aircraft for flight simulator?

I think this is where the real value of this add on comes in. 20 years ago I paid over $200 on King VHS video tapes and those things helped save me a lot of money.

Some of us have been in this hobby long enough to recall the old days of fs5, ATP, etc., where all the aircraft we had available were those that shipped with the product, along with about 10 airports world-wide with clouds that looked like white polygons and a bright green flat world to fly over. While I love the progress that fs has achieved, at least back t hen we talked about basic stick and rudder skills and the like, and there was no demand for instant gratification. I guess that's progress.@ Zane, is the G1000 in this product realistic enough to maintain some unofficial " currency" in the panel, as depicted for a light single such as the 182? I have flown some g1000 equipped c172 a/ c at our club, and since I did my instrument rating before these panels were around ( old steam gauges when the steep turns were also in the checkride ) , I am still in a learning phase with the g1000. Oh for more money and time so that I could fly every day of the week in the real thing for $140 an hour!@ those who complain about the price - I know that times are tough for many, but don't let an additional $10 for a product place a glass ceiling over your ability to actually get a product that you can learn from. Fs can be just a game if you want it to be so, but if you can invest a bit more it can become something that you can learn from, and be much more. That's some of the beauty of fs, you get to decide what you want it to be, game or simulator, entertainment or education, but there's a cost attached to that decision too.I'm on vacation right now on the PNW, but looking forward to getting home next week and trying this bird. Thanks, Bruce.

I fully agree. Only the elite, upper crust should be allowed to have hobbies. Someone actually spending time researching whether a $50 entertainment product is something they would get value out of and enjoy? Pfft. Commoners.

This G1000 simulation in the Flight1 T182T does all the things I used during my instrument training in the G1000 equipped DA40. While not every single function of the G1000 is duplicated there are also no shortcuts to reality so all the button presses and knob turning from the real unit are faithfully depicted, no bad habits to unlearn when you get in the real aircraft. I see simmers get all hung up over certain individual features they consider show stoppers for them and have to muse that they deprive themselves of a really good simming experience because of something that they would either rarely use or would probably try a couple times and then leave alone. Really... you're gonna have a tantrum cause they didn't include the electric dog polisher or fur sink!

You're putting your own spin on my words which is not anything close to what I said. Let's keep the OP on topic and not try to bait it into petty arguments.

I still don't get why people argue about the price of a FS product... If you have the money and you like the product buy it... if you are not planning to buy it or can't afford it then stop filling this post with absurd statements about what should be the price...Please... Let's return to the original topic and the ones that CAN AFFORD this excellent airplane please post your experiences... or maybe a couple of pics... :( Dexter
