More than a "good read".  That is actually a "return to sanity".  CNN and the other news agencies should be totally embarrassed by that article.

I do not get CNN where I live, lucky me. My news sources are New Zealand Fairfax Media as well as surfing CBC from Canada and the BBC on the Internet, Between those three it is not so bad.

 

Anything from the USA is over the top so I do feel for my friends back in the USA being bombarded with that junk

I agree the BBC is pretty good and far more accurate and reliable then CNN. We get BBC America, and BBC World News. Unfortunately I just changed packages which doesn't include either anymore.

It's sad if this all pan's out, that it means most likely all aboard has perished, but it also means there is no danger of any further acts, which could result in even more deaths and destruction, which was my greatest fear. This would be one case I would be glad I was wrong. 

I just watched a news conference here in Australia conducted by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA). The first RAAF PC-3 Orion from RAAF Base Edinburgh in South Australia arrived in the area at 1450hrs today (Australian time). The largest object spotted in the satellite imagery is 24m in length and is more than 2,000km SW from Perth, Western Australia. HMAS Success (fleet replenishment ship, presumably dispatched because it has the capability to lift debris from the ocean) has been dispatched and will arrive in the area in several days. More RAAF aircraft will be dispatched tonight. Weather and visibility in the area of interest is not good and AMSA are cautioning that the debris may not even be from the aircraft and that the RAAF may also not be able to see it in the current weather conditions tonight. Fingers crossed they can find it and if it is the aircraft, hopefully the black boxes can be retrieved and we can find out just what happened to the aircraft. So far, this is the best lead in the search for the aircraft. The guys flying those planes are the best in the business - they found and helped rescue British sailor Tony Bullimore in the Southern Ocean when his yacht was crippled in a round-the-world race years ago and at the time, it was the furthest south the RAAF Orions and RAN frigate had ever operated. If interested, Google for that particular story - it's incredible!

CNN: I watched tonight to see the latest what nots. A "panel" of airline Captains put forth their views. 4 are sure, or leaned to, aircraft problems, and the left turn is most likely an attempt to reach an airport for an emergency landing. 1 was positive the thing is sitting on a runway some where, and came across as a loony... so much so that Anderson Cooper limited his questions to him. They had a prosecutor/attorney general on to speak about the flight sim angle, and thankfully, she was very level headed and totally discarded any notion the flight sim is a trainingtool for dooms day.

 

Flight Sim and Public out cry for us all to be 'rounded up to concentration camps: One word - Kardashians. or two words - Duck Dynasty. Mr Dillions passionate words in fear of the Flight Simulation community is a refection of our own interest, and a natural reaction for something we all follow and care about. The general public on the other hand... just don't give a sh#t. There will be no banning of anything, or dumbing down of addon's, or the withdrawal of commercial manufactures of flight sim support. Calm down brothers.

 

The 24 hour news spot light is bright, but it doesn't stay in one place for very long. There is a famous clip of a former congressmen being interrupted during an interview for "BREAKING NEWS!"...  Yes.. Justin Biber was arrested! OMG!
