April 7, 201412 yr Author 30 miles. further seems to impact but is hardly visible. I'm pretty sure 12.000 miles was the maximum in Prepar3D 2.1 so that sounds really good.
April 7, 201412 yr Yes, but suggest you backup your scenery.cfg (\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2) and after patch install and deleting those 4 directories copy the scenery.cfg back ... go into P3D 2.2 - Scenery and hit Ok to rebuild indexes. so do we delete the directories before the patch install or after the patch install? its a little unclear Rob GrantCompass Airlines - Stretch Your Wings Australia
April 7, 201412 yr Did you delete these directories before running a patched 2.2? %PROGRAMDATA%\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2 %LOCALAPPDATA%\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2 %APPDATA%\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2 %USERPROFILE%\Documents\Prepar3D v2 Files Cheers, Rob. Your post should be a sticky in the P3D General Forum. The 2.2 installer really should do this for you and save the old versions of the folders. I haven't really noticed too much different in 2.2 except for the cloud shadows (which are sweet), but then again, I never got any OOMs with 2.1. But that said, this is the "mature" release of P3d V2. If anyone is considered switching from FSX, this is the time to make the jump.

April 7, 201412 yr Author hi people ,any recommendation concerning the licence which one is better ? If you are a developer, the Developer licence. If you are a K-12 or undergraduate student, the Academic licence. If you are a graduate, the Professional licence. Explained in more detail here: http://www.prepar3d.com/news/2013/11/4648/
April 7, 201412 yr Judging by the silence in the P3D forums I daresay people are trying the new version. Not interested in FPS, more interested in hardware usage and fluidity, now that OOMs appear to have been controlled. Cant wait to try it myself later tonight! Most reports suggest that Prepar3D 2.2 is indeed much smoother, especially when turning or panning.

April 7, 201412 yr With the lower cloud shadow draw distance selected (not zero but 6000 m)) I am finally getting shadowed out sun effects inside the VC while under or in a cloud
April 8, 201412 yr Rob I had problems with the patch , but when I deleted the files you recommend it worked. Now what programs do I need to re install? I cannot find Accusim anymore ASN doesnt work What about ORBX and REX?
April 8, 201412 yr motoadve, you need to get today's ASN update beta for P3D v.2.2 ~ Arwen ~ Home Airfield: KHIE
April 8, 201412 yr It also sounds as though you lost your DLL.XML file. FSUIPC, Accusim, ASN btstrap etc. I made a BU of it a reinstalled it and as Arwen states, you need to update ASN.
April 8, 201412 yr so do we delete the directories before the patch install or after the patch install?its a little unclear I was thinking the same thing...it looks like after? Can somebody confirm? RE Thomason Jr.
April 8, 201412 yr Better back-up first, then delete those folders before applying the patch. Because you might need entries from the exe and dll xml's afterwards, or scenery entry's from scenery.cfg Gerrit
