A2A's C172

A2A's C172 was the first plane that I actually cared about. Where I parked, how I landed, and did I treat her right my last flight.

Mixing GA and heavy metal etc is a hard call:

Fully agree! This would be better served if it were for one or the other, not overall!

I've been circumnavigating Australia (with a few excursions inland) with the Orbx AU sscenery. I've switched GA aircraft a few times amongst the Carenado Cessnas and the RealAir Duke. I like the Duke best so far, easy to fly and land, fast and sleek...gotta love it!!!

System:   AMD FX-9370 4.4GHz, 16G RAM, Asus Crosshair V Formula Z, MSI 1080ti STRIXI, Windows 10 Pro 64-Bit, Coolermaster Cosmos case, 1200W PSU, 1-256G Intel SSD, 4-512G Samsung 840 Pro SSDs, 1-1Tb Samsung 840 Pro SS, 6Tb+ external USB disk space, Prepar3D V4.3, All MegaSceneryEarth, REX OD, All ORBX

Well, looking through my hours per plane (appdata/roaming/microsoft/fsx) my list would look something like;

Car TBM        - 230

Eagle CX       - 225

Car Tprop     - 200

Car baron     - 150 (Both TC and regular versions added together)

RA TDuke    - 125

RA 2.0          - 75

RA Leg         - 25

Planes that are up and coming for me would be the Carenado Commander 114 with TC mod. Carenado PC 12, and Carenado Malibu/Matrix. The newest in my fleet.

This list takes out the "emotional" aspect, and reports what I'm actually flying the most... and I must admit to having NO idea that I flew the Citation X so much.. wow!

Of course, this is my persona GA list. The only flying I do is actual single pilot-able AC, with the Citation X being the only exception I allow myself.

Edit: I should add that I have way more hours in that list, but that's the latest figures sense last re-install... of which there have been many.. sadly.

I have a lot of favorites.  Depends on what I'm currently into flying.  Right now it's helicopters, and comparing the merits of the two Milviz whirlybirds against my much loved Cerasim fleet (each have their pro's and cons).

There's also a ton of other stuff I absolutely adore in the sim, from the Q400, to the Twin Otter, to my fleet of A2A civvie planes, to the RA Legacy, to the MV B-55, to some of the older Carenado stuff.

But as for my opinion as to the best aircraft addon?

I would have to say the VRS Superbug.  Not everyone's cup of tea for sure, but when it comes down to fidelity in every single area, there simply is nothing beats it.  Quite simply, it's the PMDG of military planes.  Combine it with the TacPack, and we're into things that FSX was never ever designed to do, and doing them flawlessly.  It's becoming an exciting area of the sim too, with some of the latest developments utilizing the TacPack to provide a military environment in which to fly.

Milviz Person.

Don't worry, it's just for fun.  I'm not keeping scores.  As others have said It's 100% subjective to people's preferences.   It's just to see what our fellow simmers feel passionate about in terms of their chosen fleet.

and.........drum roll.......Milviz 310 for $17 http://www.pcaviator.com/store/home.php?cat=925

I would buy it but I have the Duke V2 already so Im covered in the light twin area. My Fav and the one I always come back to is the PMDG 737

thanks, just purchased it.

We are lucky that there are so many contenders for this vote, most of which have been mentioned in the previous posts and it might be easier to decide this if we were identifying the best addon in each aircraft category. However, as someone who tends to fly aircraft in all categories from time to time, the addon that stands out above all of the others IMO is the Majestic Q400.

Nice idea for a thread.

Runners up are:

Flight 1 Islander

A2A Spitfire

A2A B377

and the overall winner for me....

A2A B-17 - circumnavigating the world in it at the moment and every flight is so different and exciting, nothing comes close in my opinion.

(yes I'm really into A2A for some reason!)
