December 26, 201411 yr Commercial Member Man, lot's of "grinches" here as I read this thread. Simmers buy one product from a company and expect the rest for free. Is the holiday spirit already dead one day after? I Would like to see it as an option to integrate it into my REX Texture Direct, even at some price is fine. Those textures were not created on their own. Took lot's of work I'm sure. Clouds do remind me more of what I see on the West coast of California. I also think REX's product line is confusing but that could be just me. Happy Holidaze Hi....it's not about being a "Grinche"...It's about being realistic..I know the textures were not created on their own and took a lot of work...but that's how REX 4 was advertised....(developed from the ground up with a lot of user input and requests) So if REX 4 was developed so meticulously with so much user input and over so much time, why did the "soft clouds' only materialise now....? Doesn't make any sense.... Regards.... December 26, 201411 yr i allready owne rex 4 direct and im happy with it! does this will be an improvment on quality? or no really change for me? i allready owne rex 4 direct and im happy with it! does this will be an improvment on quality? or no really change for me? I can also agree w/ this, the newer texture updates are pretty cool. I still cannot tolerate the GUI's lack of indicating which textures are currently loaded. This is a critical feature present in Essentials Plus, and sadly lacking in TD. I swear at it every time I try to recall which blithering texture I last tried! @Noel, we will consider this, it's actually easy to integrate. Great thanks Tim. Please Sir, please...modify the TD GUI so that there is no question what the last texture per category was installed, be it as a mod to an existing theme, or not. This piece is critically missing still near as I can tell and was so superior in Essential Plus, and I swear at it every time I go to swap out one of many possible textures, trying to recall which one I last sampled! December 26, 201411 yr Moderator try posting your issues in the rex forum if you want support I would except it seems I was banned a long time ago and I can't get an answer as to why. LOL. I must have really ticked someone off. Thanks Guys. I was expecting a backlash for sticking up for the REX guys.I know that i'm not the only one who doesn't expect people to work for nothing. I certainly don't. steve I agree Steve. Even though I'm banned from their forums (lol) too many people feel that they should have endless free updates after buying once. End resut of that is dev goes out of business and a new one steps in and, guess what - you have to BUY the product. FSGenesis is a great example of giving away too much - the lifetime free updates were a business killer. What I DON'T like is another icon on my desktop. I agree with Gerard - they need a control center like ORBX to handle all the products in one location. Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
December 26, 201411 yr Really!....First I purchase REX Essential Plus Overdrive....advertised as the "best thing since sliced bread"..Then it goes on sale..And then REX 4, "developed from the ground up with years of input"....And quess what? There was still something better! Soft clouds! If it took years of input to develop REX 4, then obviously it was a failure, since "Soft Clouds" were never included...Where will this all end? It's becoming a joke and unfortunately, even if a small percentage of believers fall for this, REX will still rake in the Dollars..You have lost my support, REX..This is pure taking advantage of the mass market out there for financial gain...It's like those Infomercials you get out there for cleaning products that go by: "But wait, that's not all! There's more!".... Just wanted to add my feelings as the same as yours really. I think that REX have got their marketing strategy all wrong. Now with 'Soft Clouds' being offered as a separate 'go it alone' product, shows to me that they are completely disorganised. A much better offering would of been to use the REX Essential with Overdrive as their basic programs and to charge for the intergration of REX4 and 'SC' as an upgrade. Dave Taylor
December 26, 201411 yr I'm in Rich's corner (again ) on this: More cloud options, a good price, easy to configure...and it delivers. Really liking the new clouds. I keep pen and paper nearby and write down what cloud packs I'm loading...it seems to work pretty well. December 26, 201411 yr Commercial Member While we all appreciate Maarten's comparisons (thank you Maarten), please keep in mind there's much more than one texture in the package. Actually there are 512 cloud textures, compiled into 16 selectable sets, tailored to both FSX and P3D, for both 32bit and DXT5 choices (frame friendly). Also, per the feedback here, we will be including this package as part of REX4 Texture Direct. It will be a paid add-on, however it will be tightly integrated into the REX4 line. Those that have already purchased will be allowed access to the new app for free. We will need at least a couple of weeks to accomplish this. Thank you all for your feedback! Will it affect FPS and VAS use? Simple answer, no. Tim FuchsManaging PartnerREX SIMULATIONS website: www.rexsimulations.comsupport: www.rexaxis.com
December 26, 201411 yr Simmers buy one product from a company and expect the rest for free. No, I don't. If they release a NEW product like Weather Architect or Weather Direct, I will happily pay for these programs even though technically speaking you could view them as updates to REX+OD because these features where included there. Nevertheless as this will likely give us new functionality, I have no problem paying for it. But a new cloud texture set? Come on, you must be kidding me. Clouds are in integral part of REX4 TD and carving this part out and selling new textures as a seperate add-on smells a lot like profit maximization. And it makes the product line even more confusing than it already is... [email protected] ∣ Asus ROG Strix B650E-E ∣ 64Gb@6000MT ∣ NVidia 5090 FE
