March 26, 201511 yr It's true this hobby doesn't do any favours for one's offline social life, but it's better than watching the telly which is, apart from a few quality series and films, total utter dross. The tv here is even worse! Super VC10 into LOWI with PF3 at a cinema near you https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=298UDyNmgUA
March 26, 201511 yr Hmmm. A little strange. Unless he means having a decent PC means it will just be nicked? Anyway I have no simming social groups to attend, not sure I'd want to even though I believe there is a decent sized one around Gatwick, where I work.
March 26, 201511 yr I'm antisocial, so I'll continue flight simming! LOL I didn't even know there are groups for this outside the internet...simming is what I do when I'm -sick- of being social! Cheers, Jonathan
March 26, 201511 yr In my opinion, they're often "cries for help" where all else has failed. It's a bit mean to make a statement like yours ....... can you imagine how the OP would feel to read your comment? If you're going to be wittily facetious, it's best to be able to spell the word 'ridiculous' correctly. Agree Craig. On both counts. March 26, 201511 yr Commercial Member Maybe the Huimberside region is currently under attack by a group of flightsimmer hating radicals that are hell bent on the hobby's destruction? LMAO! Love this! For the OP... buck up lad, I'll stand a watch with you, shoulder to virtual shoulder. Should they attack again, we'll beat those skirt wearing flight sim hating radical sissies back together! If you're going to be wittily facetious, it's best to be able to spell the word 'ridiculous' correctly. Well, if it is a serious as a "cry for help" as you suggest, then the OP would be best advised to seek help from the local doctor, pastor or social worker - surely the NHS can help there, rather than seeking help from unqualified members on a Flight Sim forum. If this isn't the case, it's just another valedictory post. David Porrett
March 26, 201511 yr He can't hear you. He is too busy fighting those flightsimmer hating radicals with a bunch of vigilantes from Hull. I hear that they are close to securing the north approach of the Humber Bridge. Good luck, lads! March 26, 201511 yr Why not come to Sherburn in Elmet, first Saturday every month, on the airfield and always a good day.
March 26, 201511 yr I'm antisocial, so I'll continue flight simming! He he, same here  On a series note, i thinks there's more to flight simming then meeting + greeting and on-line flying. For me anyway i am happiest just flying on my own, horse's for courses i suppose.
March 26, 201511 yr I have never met a flight simmer outside of these forums with only one exception. I have a current friend that at one time was big into Flight Sim and is no longer. His career progressed to the point that he was a civilian contractor programming drones and was able to put his gained knowledge from flight simming to professional use. Today he no longer programs drones or flight sims as he took his earning and moved to New Zealand (like I did). Now he is just a fun guy to hang out with at the pubs as he is a world of knowledge and a good friend to sit and enjoy a beer with. Goes to show that Flight Simming can lead to a professional career if that is where you want to take things....or just enjoy Flight Simming like I prefer to. March 26, 201511 yr Maybe the Huimberside region is currently under attack by a group of flightsimmer hating radicals that are hell bent on the hobby's destruction? No, no, no. You're thinking of IRIS. Sorry, I'll get my coat! Neil Andrews. Fight or Flight - YouTube | Twitter
March 26, 201511 yr Moderator Not sure what you're trying to say to be honest. I visited the area in November to create some airfields (EGNY, EGNU, XPOK, and XEDD) and at the airfields I met plenty of people who enjoy simming and aviation in general. It's much more common than you think. OK so maybe Hull isn't the prettiest of places, but for scenery inside X-Plane (With W2XP), it is by far the best populated area in the entire UK for data: Humber Bridge Kingston-upon-Hull
