August 15, 201510 yr DTG's target market are people who buy games on Steam and people with an Xbox or a playstation. Steam sells titles as: .FSX .DCS World .Il2 BOS .Assetto Corsa .Sid Meier's Civilization And many, many similar others. None of them is aimed at the "casual gamer", they're all complex and realistic simulations that usually require a fair bit of committment to enjoy, when compared to most other games. Infact none of them is available on consoles. The concept that Steam is only targeted towards "casual gamers" is wrong. Steam is just another software vending outlet, just like 20 years ago you had physical shops with shelves full of videogames CD of all kinds: kid's games, "easy" games, simulators, etc. "Society has become so fake that the truth actually bothers people".
August 15, 201510 yr DTG's target market are people who buy games on Steam and people with an Xbox or a playstation. False. FSX Steam Edition was targeted to regular FSX users. Of all kinds (casual simmers, long-time simmers, beginners, aviation enthusiasts in general, even to P3D users). All PC users. Not to console users. IMO We the serious home flight enthusiasts are part of LM's target market. They are selling the software to us, aren't they. In fact I would say we are more a part of LM's target market than DTG's target market. Please define "we" and "us". If you mean the AVSIM users, that's another grossly inaccurate statement. The overwhelming majority of AVSIM members still use FSX: http://www.avsim.com/topic/445386-2014-demographics-early-results/
August 15, 201510 yr Steam is just a distributor.... Might I also point out that Walmart sold FSX for years but I don't see people complaining about that. FSX has been sold in many retailers that also sold X-Box consoles and titles and Playstations and even sold other things like Barbie Dolls etc, so why are people all of a sudden pointing their finger at Steam because they now distribute FSX??? This thread is made up of people that don't have enough problems in their lives so they are on here making up problems....good grief  Matthew Kane I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me
August 15, 201510 yr It's right there on the license comparison page with a tick in the box: http://www.prepar3d.com/product-overview/prepar3d-license-comparison/ It's pretty clear. August 16, 201510 yr OMG it continues ... I have no vested interest, I don't work for LM and I'm not a commercial member. I've bought DG's products, LM's products, LR's products, DCS products, etc. etc. Rob, dont take that joke too seriously, I was just trying to bring a little light of the debate since Poppet "popped" her head in. I know you dont work for them but I do really enjoy your videos about the betas and technically triumphs and issues alike. Just a little jest pal. Let me guess.... you want 64bit. August 16, 201510 yr Moderator I'm just hoping we get a sim, whether it's from DTG or P3D, that has autogen fade and native rain drops in the VC like FS9 had, without the 3rd party designers having to build VC rain drop animations into the model. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator

August 16, 201510 yr Why can't some posters accept the facts or even the truth? For the same reason why some posters just can't walk away  EULA has always been off topic on these forums so stop bringing it up, rules have always been you should be banned for it. Matthew Kane I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me
August 16, 201510 yr Ultimately it doesn't matter. If DTG produce the sim we want i imagine we'll all move to DTG. If X-Plane is suddenly the sim if choice we'll move to X-Plane land. If P3D v3,4,5,6,7,8,9 etc.. Is the best (some of us) will move there. Personally i am not loyal to one sim, if a better sim comes out i have no problems with cheating on my current beau. Why can't some posters accept the facts or even the truth? As you see it, my learned friend? Ian R Tyldesley
August 16, 201510 yr Or better yet, as you see it! Yeah...isn't that the point, no one is really qualified to make a legal ruling on the EULA in question, so each opinion is equally wrong and equally valid, unless we hear differently. Ian R Tyldesley
