September 29, 201510 yr You know ORBX has got to excited about this avatar. How long do you think it will be until they release a scenery where you can land, get out of your plane, walk into the field restaurant and buy your $100 burger? When you start hearing a ding you won't know if its an impending OOM or the Chef telling you your burger is ready. Maybe this is why some airport developers have been adding scenery to the inside of their terminals. September 30, 201510 yr Commercial Member Speaking of annoyances, If you don't mind Brandon, could you check if the head movement bug in the virtual cockpit as you near the equator still exists??. I really disliked this and am hoping I won't have to anymore !! What exactly happened before/how do you recreate it? I just flew over the equator and didn't notice any issues. So A and D are used for turn rather than strafe? That might feel a little on the odd-side... I'd have thought a middle mouse click or similar to toggle mouse look on/off would have done the trick, but I guess I haven't tried it yet so maybe best not to comment . Does it feel natural and smooth as a standard FPS would, or is it a little on the clunky side? Also, I added a cheeky extra Q about the sun glare (or lack thereof) above if you have time to answer. (if there are any extra graphical tweaks they've made that have impressed you I'd love to hear them!) In third person A/D sort of just walk your Avatar in that direction. In first person, A/D strafes left/right. Q/E act as your rotation to face your character at a different heading. It's not the most natural feeling in the world, but I'd say it's better than nothing. I suspect they'll improve it over time. I did suggest some usability improvements, but they never really commented on them. I do like what you suggested about the middle mouse button toggling the mouse. In regards to the sun glare, unfortunately, there is no replacement effect - just the standard lens flare from FSX/P3Dv1/2. I also suggested a sun glare of some sort, but as well, this was never commented on. I haven't tested it yet, but hopefully the lens flare renders over the VC model now, as a sort of pseudo sun glare could be made this way. There's no real major visual updates in this version. SpeedTree implementation should be quite cool (I've not installed the build with it yet), though it will be up to developers to utilize them. And another question, Brandon. I've tried to read everything here today in all the threads about V3.0 and haven't seen a response to several questions about EZDOC. Any reports from the beta team on whether this update breaks EZDOC? From what I've seen, it looks like it'll require an update, but I couldn't give a firm answer. This is only based on comments I've read from other testers. Does the avatar works in first person? That 'd be much interesting Yes. There are a couple different first person views to choose from: - First Person: standard camera at eye level with the model, no headbob, 3D model visible - First Person (Attached): camera locked to the head of the 3D model, camera shakes around with the head - First Person (No Model): same as "First Person," but with no 3D model. Can anyone comment as to whether AI traffic lights are more visible in v3? I don't normally have AI traffic on and am not familiar with how the lights looked in v2, so I couldn't comment on this. September 30, 201510 yr What exactly happened before/how do you recreate it? I just flew over the equator and didn't notice any issues The closer you get to the equator the eyepoint in the virtual cockpit seems to drift. If you park the aircraft on RWY 36 at GOOY and taxi up towards the nearest turn off and watch if the eyepoint drifts from "left to right" or "right to left" as you make the turn. EDIT: Its more noticeable in the larger aircraft e.g. The PMDG 777 Jimmy Nestor
September 30, 201510 yr Not sure I saw this posted anywhere here yet - JohnV confirmed that all V3 ORBX multi installers will be free.
September 30, 201510 yr JohnV confirmed that all V3 ORBX multi installers will be free Not quite 100% accurate..here is the direct quote from JV regarding v3 compat issues. ............I've asked each developer to review exactly what is required to port their airports to P3Dv3. If it's a simple process then I'll compensate them for their hours spent and the airport will be a free download for FSS customers with a new Multi-installer.If there is substantial work involved then I will leave it to each developer to notify me if we charge a nominal fee for the work involved. I will leave that up to each developer to decide at their discretion.

JV also, in the same post, said that P3D3 compatible multi-installers for their FTX regions, Global, Vector, and OpenLC will be provided at no cost. Looks pretty reasonable to me.
