Prepar3D 3.1.2.15831 released

Recommended Posts

Well I've just successfully installed 3.1. As instructed I uninstalled the Academic Client and then ran the Client MSI file that's in the large zip download. Only took a few moments and then had to Activate online. Launched P3D and all looks good, aircraft and scenery intact, settings unchanged etc. New option slider for dynamic reflections but not noticed anything else yet. Water looks much better at first glance but I fear still won't satisfy everyone...

Always amazes me, people want advancement in flight simulation, then instantly complain about having to reinstall everything.

Like it is said before : P3D is Not for Entertainment , but on How to Educate youself in.... Reinstalling everything several times a year !

LOL

No, just kidding. Tomorrow I am going to Uninstall the 3.0 client and Install the 3.1 client.

Seems reasonably simple imho...

Not a clean install thought I would try - nothing to loose - I installed main setup file all went well - asn still working few things I noticed controller throttle had to be reassigned but had a copy of my exported controllers file - re-import and all was fine -

Cameras files was reset - I made a copy of that before install

Also p3d.cfg file was not changed - made a copy of that also but no need to replace it - all and all looks perfect to me - only have orbx freeware airports installed at the moment and they are still good to go

Water looks nicer - still looks a bit lifeless at altitude but no big deal

Well done LM

Other installed software list with no issues:

PMDG 737

FSFX Packages 737 immersion

Shade

ASN

Orbx global - NA lc - trees

Estonia Tool

PrecipitFX

REX 4

What about the SDK, are you ladies gona update client and not SDK

Seems to me this update process is only understood by the in crowd, those beyond the pale feel clever at your own risk.

I don't know what effect will have to update client and not SDK.

The SDK has zero impact on the end user.

Glad to hear addons still work so far.  I waited for 3.1 to come out. Never did load 3.0. Been flying v2.5. I'm just grateful LM supports us. Will be downloading 3.1 soon. Happy Flying.

Is the cpu core + VAS issue still there.  Can I enable all my cores and get good VAS usage?

As far as the changelog shows nothing here :-(

I don't mind re-installing my addons just unsure if I need to uninstall each addon individually using the Win 10 control panel feature or do I just re-run all the addon installers overtop the existing ones once P3Dv3.1 has been installed??

I've just installed the client update after uninstalling the 3.0 client. Seems to have broken nothing except for Active Sky Next and maybe the ORBX objectFlow.dll.
