Prepar3D 3.1.2.15831 released

We don't recommend moving to 3.1 until Objecflow is unbroken again. Right now it's not working.

Just enjoy all the benefits and performance improvements of 3.0 for the time being; we're continuing to aggressively roll out 3.0 compatible installers which should (fingers crossed) work fine in 3.1 when OF is updated.

I will not trust a video. It will have to be seen by my own eyes, on my own PC!

You'll need to wait for 3PDs to get an update ... there appears to be a CTD issue with Virtuali add-on manager that Umberto is aware of and I'm sure will fix soon.   You can temporarily disable Virtuali in you DLL.XML and EXE.XML:

DLL.XML

  <Launch.Addon>
    <Name>Addon Manager</Name>
    <Disabled>True</Disabled>
    <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>
    <Path>bglmanx.dll</Path>
  </Launch.Addon>

EXE.XML
  <Launch.Addon>
    <Name>Couatl</Name>
    <Disabled>True</Disabled>
    <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>
    <Path>fsdreamteam\couatl\couatl.exe</Path>
  </Launch.Addon>

If you didn't do a full clean install and went the client installer only route (which I don't recommend as there is some additional content that fixes a few other issues like ship/boat wakes).

If you want boat/ship wakes following 3D waves (and you have NOT installed the Content.msi, Client only), you'll need to adjust those wake*.fx files for any 3PDs content beyond or wait and hope 3PDs adjust their FX files and release an update.

in ...\Effects\fx_wake*.fx  for every [Particle.x] entry you need to add Ground Decal=1

[Particle.0]
Lifetime=7.07, 7.07
Type=21
X Scale=5.30, 5.30
Y Scale=5.30, 5.30
Z Scale=0.00, 0.00
X Scale Rate=0.20, 0.20
Y Scale Rate=0.20, 0.20
Z Scale Rate=0.00, 0.00
Drag=0.00, 0.00
Color Rate=0.11, 0.11
X Offset=0.00, 0.00
Y Offset=0.00, 0.00
Z Offset=0.00, 0.00
Fade In=0.10, 0.10
Fade Out=0.60, 0.60
Ground Normal=1
Shade=1
Face=1, 0, 1
Ground Decal=1

You can also do the same for any 3PDs custom ships/boats wake effects, but you'll have to find them and adjust them.

For Orbx, ASN, GTN, Virtuali, etc. you'll need to wait for those 3PDs to update their products to be ready for V3.1.  If you are feeling adventurous and can't wait, your probably going to run into problems.

Cheers, Rob.

Going to update when P3Dv4 comes. That way I won't have to update anymore. Lol.

Uninstalled 3.0 client, installed 3.1 client, already flying and flawless. Water looks tons better and performance seems to be about the same.

Very good.

Just curious and hard to follow.  So if we uninstall 3.0 and then install 3.1 we are ok except some minor things like Objectflow and ASN?   Or do we need to reinstall all the addons?

Uninstall addons then reinstall?
