April 6, 201610 yr Going slightly OT here, have any of you who use TrackIR ever tried flying FSX with an xbox controller? I can appreciate it's chalk and cheese, but the right hand analogue control for looking around (automatically set up by fsx by default) is the next best thing to TrackIR. Joystick hat switches aren't in the same league. From subtle movements to full head swings to tracking something in the scenery they're excellent and they have the added bonus that they ALWAYS snap back to the perfect default view when you're done, they never go out of sync or lose track. There's no movement just rotation, but they are superb. It annoys me to death that joystick manufactures haven't cottoned on to this simple addition that would make a world of difference to simmers.
April 6, 201610 yr Come on guys - please keep this thread clear for questions. There's a perfectly good discussion thread for all the other stuff. Give people power to really test their personality.

April 6, 201610 yr So we listened, we fed the development team a bunch of coffee and set them to work overnight. The end result? DTG Flight School now supports TrackIR. We need to do some QA testing on it, but it is in there. - Martin Many thanks Martin,
April 6, 201610 yr Looks like Flight School will support TrackIR after all. They just needed to test it. So we listened, we fed the development team a bunch of coffee and set them to work overnight. The end result? DTG Flight School now supports TrackIR. We need to do some QA testing on it, but it is in there. - Martin Júnior Silva

April 6, 201610 yr JSilva - I just brought the tickets for Friday since I'm planning to go to London on Friday anyway. Could you give us a mini review when you get back, or just let us know how it's progressing?
April 7, 201610 yr The bad news Flight Simulator will not share the same engine with Flight School, the good news is that's because it will be even better. Dovetail have confirmed that they are still evolving the technology which we can preview in Flight School for Flight Simulator. I guess we all have to be just a little more patient but they seem to be doing a good job so far. Where did this come from? The original press release, clearly stated both Flight School and Flight Simulator was based off of FSX Dovetail Games Flight School and Dovetail Games Flight Simulator do share the same underlying technology. In 2014, we acquired the rights to develop and publish new flight simulators utilizing Microsoft’s genre-defining flight simulation technology. This means that both Flight School and Flight Simulator are based on an evolution of Flight Simulator X technology. Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
April 7, 201610 yr JSilva - Could you give us a mini review when you get back, or just let us know how it's progressing? +1 (and maybe a quick video from your phone  ) I just pre-ordered yesterday on Steam. Thought I may as well to get the 3rd aircraft early. I was using Prepar3d last night and thought to myself how for 15 euros to get better lighting and other fancy graphical/engine updates as well as FTX GLOBAL and 3 aircraft is actually a really good deal. Here in Switzerland that wouldn't buy you two pints of lager. It seems the release date is 26th April if the pre-order deadline is April 25th.

Agreed, we get an entire sim for less than the price of a single plane. Yet some people still complain. I dont understand personally but I am looking forward to it! Let me guess.... you want 64bit.
