I could probably do without it if P3D were to implement the capability to assigning different Axis, button configurations per aircraft such as X plane has done. As Vic said you can, I have several I have exported for early testing before installing FSUIPC including one that is set up for SLEW exclusively. Just set them up & import when necessary. I've been using FSUIPC 5.12.102 without any issues. Have been a bit slack & wasn't even aware the utility had been updated. It's a must have for me as well. Broke my LEFT toe brake Saitek Rudder Pedals the other day and had to resort to FSUIPC mapping my toe brakes (LEFT & RIGHT) to the only working RIGHT toe brake.

Anyone here who is using 4.2 with ProATC? Is this a problem for everyone or just for some? It seems you can call up the window but that it immediately closes/hides again, rendering it useless. Jeroen, do you know more details about this P3D4.2/PATC issue? This would prevent me from updating to 4.2. - Harry 9800x3D (Strix x870e-E) - 64GB RAM (DDR5 6000, CL 30) - RTX 5090, 34'' 1440p OLED HDR - Windows 11 Pro (1TB M.2) - MSFS 2024 (MS Store, 4TB M.2).
February 13, 20188 yr Been poking around this thread, but, i assume the usual update rules apply.. no reason to not uninstall content and scenery as well then run those updated installers? I think I did this in the past and it worked, no loss of addons, however i may have had to do something with orbx textures for ftxg.. maybe just opening ftx central? Is this accurate still. February 13, 20188 yr Please, can anybody tell me detailed what exactly will happen when I upgrade the 4.2 CONTENT? 1. Will all installed aircraft have to be reinstalled or will they be preserved? 2. I set paths to FSX (simobjects/effects/gauges). Will they be overwritten by v4.2 default? 3. All addon entries (not sceneries but tools, programmes like UTlive, AiCarriers etc): Will they survive? 4. exe.xml/dll.xml: Will they be overwritten by default?

BIOS/EFI issue 2. Intel's Turbo Boost Max technology (driver and BIOS setting) Here is a video showing the problem when I went from a 5960X to my 7900X: The immediate solution was to disable Intel's Turbo Boost Max technology. The long term solutions was to wait for ASUS to provide a BIOS/EFI update along with an updated Intel Turbo Boost Max Driver. So if anyone is experiencing this strange behavior when moving "up" to better hardware, it might be worth checking for an updated BIOS/EFI and updated Intel Turbo Boost Max driver ... or simply disable Turbo Boost Max and test to see if that fixes the issue. Now, be aware that the source of "blurries" can be many things, this is just ONE source off "blurries" I'm presenting above and how I solved it. In my case, this was NOT an LM problem, it was a hardware problem. Cheers, Rob. Hi Rob, this is extremely interesting. I must say, this suggestion would make the most sense out of absolutely everything I have tried. However, after trying to return the BIOS to default of 4.0Ghz, for some reason, the computer is still running at 4.2Ghz according to CPU-Z. Then when run, there is no difference. Have you any idea why this may be the case? I also update the BIOS to the latest verson, but that made no difference either. February 13, 20188 yr Well I caved and updates to 4.2 It was a piece of cake Uninstalled Client and installed the new one and then did the same for scenery and content. Did a couple of necessaries for addon like update ASP4 and ran FTXCentral and all seems well. I must say it looks smoother to me! I and using 30hz refresh at unlimited frame rate and often say dips below 30fps and what I would call microstutter in V4.1 Perhaps it placebo, time will tell. Only thing that dispointed me that even though I do not have a VR headset the VR menu was available in V4.1 but its not in V4.2. Perhaps you have to have a headset deteched. Or do you need nvidia 3D Vision driver?

If you do move, the 8700K is the best bang for buck option for gaming/simming ... but be sure to set aside some money for water cooling the CPU so you can leverage the advantage of the newer CPU's ability to overclock (5-5.2 Ghz no problem and quiet water cooling). Without knowing more about your motherboard, CPU, BIOS, OS, seeing all your BIOS/EFI options, additional tuning programs you may have running at startup, etc. etc. ... oh and reading thru your MB's manual ... I wouldn't have much input to give, there are just so many items it could be, but I'd start looking at BIOS settings, and drivers, and if you can disable Turbo Boost and set to a fixed frequency. Cheers, Rob.

I use FSUIPC to do it now but that was the way I did it before. FSUIPC is much easier once it's set up but a few batch files to swap the xml's out work. Vic I sure would be much easier in the interface and FSUIPC is brilliant! One of the items Xpalne has done well.
February 14, 20188 yr I have seen no improvement in autogen loading in V 4.2 It still loads in very noticeable patches with autogen draw distance above medium. The only setting in which it loads smoothly is with Medium or below. I have not done a long haul flight to see if it loads late.
