How Long Are You Thinking Of Delaying Your Purchase?

Featured Replies

Xbox Game Pass for one month to see if it even starts up on my system, then I'll take the time to decide which store to get it from after reading feedback. The updated FAQ regarding the physical edition suggests it might come with a Steam key in the future and that the CD check could be removed, which would make it a definite purchase for me.

When it gets DX12 I'll have to stop flying it.

Due to hardware or something else?

Until the add-ons catch up. So, probably a year...?

Precisely that. If one's video card doesn't support DX12, it might become a problem.

Depends. Until VR support is fully there, and probably until after the first service updates.

I have seen some stuff, mainly peformance drops and long frames in the release version that tells me the release is premature.

Pretty much any DirectX 11 GPU can run DirectX 12 applications, except maybe for the first and/or second generation ones because they are not supported at the driver level anymore. They will be missing out on newer features such as DXR, but they can still enjoy the lower CPU overhead.

Im not waiting.. I have a recommended-ish level system so am hoping for medium settings but i'll run it at low if i have to..  I used to run xp11 on a gtx750.. so use that for perspective.   My intention is to use x-plane for my zibo fix  and a couple other planes MFS doesnt have.  MFS the rest of the time.

[XP11 BETA/FS2020 BETA] [Pilotedge BETA/Vatsim BETA]

Three, four or maybe five years.

13600KF - 32GB DDR4 - RTX4070 - UW1440p GSync - USB DAC/Amp - 2TB NVMe+2TB SSD - Windows 11 - Gladiator NXT EVO - 1 Gbps Fiber  - MSFS 2024

I will be waiting a couple of months... the sim will not be the holy grail all of Avsim thinks it will and the actual flying will need some major work or 3rd party developers.

Currently, I don't have the hardware to run MSFS 2020, but I'll be putting together a new rig beginning of next year. Will be purchasing MSFS 2020 in January/February 2021.

For those folks not buying on release day, what's your estimated table for purchasing MSFS 2020?

I have a 4790K and a MSI 780TI O/C with 16 GB Ram and a 250Gb SSD.

I'll be holding back from purchasing for maybe, 20 minutes, after it goes live.

Just to let the quick ones go in there.

Whatever our Specs - we have to do this.

We'll do it together - forget the 2080 Super (Ti) guys - they're on another planet.

Can you think of an Earthly Reason why you wouldn't?

No, nor can I. . .

Come on. . .

Whatever you've got - it's good. Let's go in.

And FLY!

Due to 8 gig video ram.  If it turns out that's enough, then I'll keep flying.

Hook, are you saying it's a fool's errand to fly with less than that 8 gig VRAM?

Threshold released a performance and graphics video on a mid-range PC, using a 1070, which has 8GB. Looks to be enough, so I wouldn't worry
