August 16, 20205 yr While reading some of the Aerosoft posts this week, this one post by Mathijs Kok really caught my eye. He projects some staggering numbers. When Pigs Fly . Ray Marshall .
August 16, 20205 yr Just further evidence that P3D v.4 and 5 will be dead within months (yeah, yeah, commercial and military, blah blah blah yada yada yada).
August 16, 20205 yr Bearing in mind Kok over the last 3 years has trotted out a steady stream of unfinished products to his 'customers'
August 16, 20205 yr It comes as no surprise to me. And this is something people that are complaining about gaming youtubers “playing” it should have in mind before complaining about it. Hopefully a bigger market will mean solid improvements over the years and guarantee the viability of the project. 9800X3D@H150i // Msi RTX 5090 Trio OC // 64GB DDR5 6000mhz CL30 // 2TB + 1TB Nvme Dell 27" 2127DGF - 1440p - Gsync - 165hz Thrustmaster TCA Sidestick Airbus // TCA Quadrant Airbus // TFRP T.Flight Rudder Pedals // Logitech Flight Multi Panel

This is the reason I intend to purchase MFS through MS Store; it will mean more money to MS and therefore to Asobo. Yes, I know they are already very rich, but the more financially rewarding it is to MS, the more they will develop it. It will be interesting to watch the Bing maps Partnership video. I wonder if MFS will become the biggest (or at least a major) driver of Bing maps future development. The "killer app" as it were.
August 16, 20205 yr I wish Microsoft and Asobo all the success and the highest of sales figures and multiple game awards. They’ve undertaken such a massive and complex project of creating 1:1 digital twin of the world and knocked it out of the park along with further plans for continual improvements. They truly deserve every bit of success.
August 16, 20205 yr I'm one of the gamers. No idea how to fly a plane, and I will start my MSFS journey doing things that would clearly frustrate some people (but I probably won't play online). But I intend to learn, while also -- shock! -- enjoying the scenery and playing around. I've just bought a Thrustmaster T Flight HOTAS X, and a copy of Ace Combat 7 to "try it out" and satisfy the gamer in me. I've been waiting years for a flight simulator with a realistic world to explore. Scenery you can actually admire. That has drawn me in, and I can't wait to learn to fly. A wider audience is a good thing, surely, and be reassured that you don't have to fly online if you're a great pilot, so you don't have to run into amateurs like me. Just because some choose to “play” it a certain way doesn’t the rest of us have to follow suit. It’s good for the long term health of MSFS and the addon economy that there’s a broad range of people buying MSFS beyond the hardcore simmers. Welcome to the wonderful world of simulated aviation! May your journey be long and pleasant. Ah, heck, play online anyway. The people who would be annoyed DESERVE to be annoyed, and there will be plenty of others there who will help you learn. It should be an amazing experience. Besides, the Real World has student pilots in it too. 🙂 Hook Larry Hookins Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of EarthAnd danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;

Every freaking gaming Twitch streamer and YouTuber out there is currently learning to fly with this thing, without ever having touched any flight sims before. It's just insane what kind of media reach Asobo is getting with this marketing campaign among casual gamers. I also heard some rumblings that yokes and HOTAS sets are increasingly hard to get in Germany over the last few days. Edited August 16, 20205 yr by Der Zeitgeist

We are all gamers, anybody telling you otherwise shows off. But it is also true there are different ways to enjoy the simulation, where the simmer is more or less involved or willing to be involved in learning how to fly. Pure, almost automated, sightseeing or seriously trying to mimick actual flight and all the spectrum in between. Everything is respectable. I wish you to get the taste to learn all the depth of a simulator. That is where the fun is in my opinion. It is nice to look down at the landscape but landing smoothly your taildragger in a crosswind, hmmmm pure joy. It takes time to learn but satisfaction guaranteed. Just an example of course. You were right to get you a good joystick. If you persist, and can afford it, get you set of rudder pedals, it makes a world of difference.
