I am just thrilled to see  "Crashes related to the use of the Smart cam have been fixed" which i had a Zendesk ticket on.

Probably a conflict with a mod.

 

Confirmed! I removed everything from community folder and content manager become available!

Yes it happens if you change the installation path. I'm sure the op did just that thinking the path was wrong 

By the way folks all your community folder stuff now shows up in MSFS content !

Update went smooth. Let's see KLAS-KLAX in the Neo. 

Here we are again. People get different results from the same patch. Not sure why MS/AS and the sim community isn't prioritizing establishing update protocols. With P3D, we have step by step instructions on what needs to be done BEFORE we run the update. With MSFS, it is a mystery.

In this thread, Rob_Ainscough listed several things that can cause problems with updates. Lot's of other users made good points in the thread as well.

More specifically, I think Rob's points (below) are relevant (my comments in bold😞

• MSFS updates not knowing how to deal with a file who's signature has changed (by end user).
  • What happens if we edit a file that is outside of the community folder? Can it block the update? If so, do we need to restore the original; before updating?
• User setting MSFS files to read only.
  • Not sure why people may do this, but I could see this causing issues with updates
• Users with extremely poor internet connections.
  • Obvious issue, but relevant
• Updating with MSFS in Dev Mode has caused some issues.
  • If true, seems like something that needs to be change BEFORE you apply the update
• Overly aggressive 3rd partyanti-malware/virus software preventing updates/installs.
  • So, if you have no AV or firewall EXCEPT what comes with Windows, do you have to change any settings before updating? Considering that MS created all of these tools, there should be guidance on this somewhere

Also, what do we do with the community folder? Does it need to be empty before updating, or should be just remove the 3rd party aircraft patches?

Smooth update on my end, including the 2 updates for the Japan scenery. My content manager is now showing everything up to date!

Will slowly move stuff back into community folder and observe.

Yeah.. the official forums have gone batwhatsit crazy...   some people claim to have rebooted so many times (to see if that fixes it) that they have probably covered the time involvement of pressing any key to continue for the next 10 years 🙂

I have to say it is an incredible meltdown over a first world problem 🙂

I am wondering your NEO results.

Because I was not able to fly the NEO within the route again, as it was in 1.9.3 It is holding aroud departure airport, turning left and nothing 😞

shame i was looking forward to giving my index finger a rest from pressing pointless keys 🥵

While y'all are busy downloading fixes every few weeks, I'm still sitting on the sidelines, waiting for the first few months of 2021.  Hopefully by that time, this Beast of the Midway just might be free of all the bugs and problems...  Then I might sign-up to purchase MSFS...
