No, they follow the 4 types that can be set via UI in custom weather.

Thanks. I tried it and you're correct.

I do not understand it , the p3d gps tracks fine, reality xp not. Went back to p3dv5 hf2 is ok again....

Might be worth checking you have the latest RXP GTN750 version -- I have ver 2.5.27 which was released in early Sept2020. I also don't see a rash of complaints on the RXP forum which I would expect if there was a general GTN problem with P3Dv5.1. Another thing you could check is the settings in the RealityXP.GTN.ini file in the main folder for the aircraft you are using.

The Flight1 GTN750 also seems to work well.

Colors and general "atmosphere" is not too bad once you get up in the air.
Milviz B350i seems to work fine in 5.1. Just missing my ezdok and Active Sky

Thanks,

I have the latest version , it makes no sense because the stock gps is working fine, it works fine in v5 hf2 so why does it do this in 5.1? i dont get it.....

Try some different aircraft if you haven't done so -- might be some kind of autopilot issue. Below are some of my GTN settings. In the top group, only Connect GPS to VOR is Off, all the rest are On in the RXP ini file.

Still haven't updated to v5.1 yet and really wondering. Is v5.1 really that bad? Is it worse than v5.0 HF2? My experience with EA was great so far, and now I am afraid of updating. I

Don’t be afraid. 5.1 is definitely an improvement over 5hf2. They fixed many bugs and TrueSky has more features than before. The lighting also seems even better in TrueSky.

LM just didn’t give us everything we wanted and didn’t fix every bug so we’re a bit disappointed.

That 5.1 is a step in the right direction should be obvious.

there are some 3rd party addons used. Are they already updated to 5.1? Becauase some Objects/Textures are need a rework to work with EA/TrueSky.

Fortunately you have the option not to upgrade to the latest version with P3D, I will wait for the 3rd party developers to catch up.

I can't offer a complete assessment since I've only explored a few items since upgrading to 5.1. My initial observation is that the sim "feels" smoother and some textures look sharper. My concern (in my case) is that it's using more VRAM than before. I have a 6 gig card which was adequate, but with VRAM reaching 4.6 out of an available 5.2 gigs of VRAM, my margins have dropped. Other than that, so far, all my addons are functioning without the need of a patch.

I am obviously word not allowed (why on Earth is "i-g-n-o-r-a-n-t" a "word not allowed"? How much of normal English is not allowed in these forums? What sort of Censors are living here?) of what those problems are, because that video seems to be to be a good example of what a good sim it is.

The only "off" thing I noticed was at the end whilst you were taxiing to park, and that was a flickering white edge to some of the trees and other objects. That was after more than 10 minutes during which i could spot nothing wrong! Should I have?

I have not been using EA at all in P3D5. As an airliner flyer I never liked it. Looked good from below cloud, but terrible at cruise altitude. And mostly it made my world too gray -- less colour in everything, and too dark. Maybe I'll try it again with 5.1, though the criticisms here put one off. But not your video. Was it intended to?

Another issue with the trueSKY people have been mentioning is scenery objects behind the clouds popping out, but I am unable to reproduce it. Could someone post screenshots showing the issue?

If you install the content and scenery 5.1 update it will occur only under certain conditions and with some 3rd party addons that are using legacy alpha blending from FSX!

Most users here installed only client and therefore will see default objects showing this behavior because it will not include all the fixes LM did for content and scenery..

Pete - It is obvious when on the ground only and objects are drawn in front of the sky/clouds. You do not notice it once in the air but it is terribly noticeable while taxiing as nearly all objects will display this flickering behavior. I also never used EA in 5.0 due to a lot of the quirks and I don't think too many of them have really been fixed in this version....

The main issue for me that still persists is flickering clouds when NOT using Enhanced Atmospherics.

Below are 2 videos. The first is from 5.0hf2 and the second is from 5.1. The flickering still happens on a clean install with NO addons installed.
