If you failed to notice after reading 7 pages, people don’t mind the delay if it means that the update is more polished and bug-free, what people are disappointed is that they only announced it in the last minute, when the dev team knew word not allowed well earlier on that they cannot release today.

Understood if it is delayed to iron out the UK But with all due respect what pxxxx me slightly off is that eagerly awaited bug fixes and performance improvements are bound to a polished scenery update and not pushed out earlier. I am getting tired of the msfs mysteries letting me run the sim for weeks with maybe a handful CTDs and the suddenly such a massive amount of CTDs that I decided Monday to reinstall msfs from scratch and since then I am trying to get this challenge done But face continued download cycles, installer crashes or freezes. No advise please, I am using the search function already ans am in contact with MS Support with using net limiter, disabling IP6 and so on. Just telling this since I am really waiting for stability and performance improvement and just hope that WU3 was not just withheld because the Uk scenery needs to be polished further Well said, and exactly the same situation i found myself in last weekend. with a sudden increase of Ctd's which bore no resemeblance to the usual one's i and others with the Radeon RX5700XT graphics card had suffered for weeks with no help (despite numerous contacts, and with Zendesk ) I too decided on a full reinstall of both OS and the Sim.Only to find the same cd's still remained. (and note all ctd fixes mentioned by Zendesk were folowed, along with crash reports etc..) Still waiting, but like before just as the ctd's suddenly arrived, since further updates to Windows and the Xbox app, Net Framework etc, they have gone again. They need to forget these fancy touches to the look of the sim, and actully get it working as it should! Prime examples are fix the contant CTD's fix the 747 and 787.. fix the word not allowed AP and flight model, You can have a fantastic looking sim, but if the aircraft in that sim do not operate as they should, or your suffering constant CTD's that is not going to be long before folk give up on it. February 12, 20215 yr Author What worries me is that they decided literally in the last minute that the build was "broken" and in need of polishing and finishing touches. Like, were they expecting that in just a few hours they would be able to work more on the build, compile it and send it to Microsoft's servers for worldwide delivery? Seems overly ambitious or reckless. They should have called for a delay at 16:00 GMT, the standard update time. Or the previous day even. Seems more like a development management issue to me rather than a communication one. The community managers were on the ball for several hours to keep us updated. Personally, I would assume (yeah I know about assume) that they had made a statement that they were hoping for Feb 9th to Feb 11th and they were trying everything to make that date, but then realised late in the day that whatever they were trying to fix, it wasn't working in all cases. I guess they thought they had a fix and were doing some last tests to ensure it was OK and it wasn't. Now they have stated an actual date, and hopefully that will be the one that happens, but nowhere did they actually say 11th is definately the date, they just said they were hoping for between 9th to 11th. Whilst I agree that sometime between 9th to 11th, they could have said something, my guess is they really thought this fix would work and theres no reason to make a statement about delay if not needed. Personally, I wouold rather they get it right.. after all.. the outcry in the early days when something got broken through a fix was appaling to see (whether justified or not) and so they probably don't want to go down that road again and by doing this delay they feel it's the better of two evils since they know how the forums have less than zero tolerance on anything. The thing is, up until the last minute the community managers were braced for an 11 February release (which was reiterated in the previous development update), and were not told that maybe there would be a delay so that they could set expectations right in the socials and the forums. And even if they had, when the delay was announced the time was around 7:00 PM in France, so either way they were being way too ambitious if they thought they could have enough time to compile the build and send it to Microsoft over the remaining hours. They should have decided that much earlier. And then it didn't help that we were told to stand by for more information in the development update, which just copied over the Discord message. It was incredibly underwhelming. I completely agree that if the build is as broken as they say then they made the right decision to delay it further, but it really adds insult to the injury that the fix for the terrain spikes, and potentially the coastline glitch if the screenshots are representative, is tied to an update that keeps getting delayed instead of being pushed out with a hotfix. They can delay the UK update all they want, but the way they've handled everything else is not too great.

February 12, 20215 yr 16 hours ago, marsman2020 said: The product isn't done. Previous Microsoft sims were released complete, then needed a couple of service packs to fix bugs. Then we were left alone for the 3DPs to work their magic. This sim has issues with the scenery (mostly issues introduced after release, spikes, water climbing up hills, etc), issues with the aerodynamics and flight model (twin engine aircraft static thrust, flap behavior, lack of official support for supersonic flight, etc), glaring missing features that were in FSX (replays, rotorcraft, flyby and other camera views, supersonic flight, multi screen support, multiple aspects of the API). Getting the sim completed with what is missing depends on MS/Asobo delivering timely and regular updates and us trusting their communication about those updates. After all, they promised us a 10 year journey to fix all the missing stuff. Joy! Worst of all, the constant changes create a moving target which has put some of the larger 3DPs off from starting their magic-making. I for one am not getting upset over a slip of a week or two. And I’ll say it again...compare this sim with any of the past ones. This was the most complete on release. I haven’t bought a single add on yet. As a real world pilot, I couldn’t fly FS8, FS9, FSX or P3D without hundreds (thousands?) of dollars of add ons. And bugs never got fixed for a year or more after release...if ever. I won’t beat this horse more, but for a commercial piece of software that cost $120 or less, I think the amount of attention has been commensurate. Have a good weekend.
