MSFS - Xbox Series X|S Gameplay Trailer

Featured Replies

This trailer definitely looks much better than my PC can render in full Ultra, and for a fraction of the price, well done Asobo.

This is very good news and a step in the positive direction. I am looking forward to the F-18 and carrier for my pc. A real surprise indeed. Thank you MS/Asobo - nice work.

Ok since it doesn't look like anyone has said it yet, I'd like to clarify something. Based on the last Dev Q&A the benefits to PC coming from the Xbox port go beyond just DX12. A ton of work went into getting the sim optimized for console that will be leveraged by all sorts of PC builds. An example of this is the fact that they will now process panel screens on a separate cpu thread. DX12 or not you can clearly see why this will result in much better performance when sitting in the cockpit. Good things are coming ladies and gents!

MSFS in DX12 is looking good and I look forward to the Top Gun Maverick expansion

Here's something I haven't seen mentioned yet: anyone else think this is closer than we can currently get without phasing out?

Just looking for help because I’m not doubting you when I say this. Do you recall specifically where they said that in the last dev stream? I watched it as well but don’t recall that. I’m excited to see that though if you can help point that out… just don’t have time to watch the entire stream again to hear them talking about the panels on a different thread. Thanks!

That stream was over an hour long.  I thought it was Seb who said it.  It was more like one sentence or something.  I also thought WT were already working on this as well and would have something soon.  I might be wrong on that.  Anyways, it's been well known for a few weeks now.

Ok - I’ll see if I can get some time to rewatch it this week. I’m glad to see that’s in the works. Just didn’t catch it. Thx

There's definitely going to be performance or detail tradeoffs somewhere.  The bespoke design of a console like the Series X gives it a few performance advantages over a typical x86 PC build, but a high end PC should still handily beat it.

My guess is it'll mostly run a combination of medium/high settings at 30fps with some cut down LODs, and the 4K resolution is probably using some kind of modern upscaling technique from something lower.  The nice thing about a console is that it's a fixed hardware spec, so you can really dig into the sim's settings and tune things as tightly as possible for it.

Watch from 1:13:00. Seb is indeed the one who said it.

Well the footage in the trailer was recorded on an X-Box Series X, so take that how you want.

FS2020 is just keeps on getting better and better.

They have the TOPGUN movie partnership is awesome!

I flew P3D v5.2 and yes, you can fly the 777 747 or the 787, but the graphics is no comparison to FS2020.

Each platform has its own advantages, but visually, FS2020 is the best for realistic immersion and environment, P3D and Xplane has a long way to go.

What are the specs of the new XBox? In other words roughly what is it's equivalent in PC terms? An RTX2080 and I7 or what?

Man looks amazing! Can't wait for DX12 to arrive along with the updated Garmin Avionics from WT! 🙂 We really need offline AI traffic and sound addon to bring it to life!
