I can understand your reasoning, but this update went very nicely so far for me at least. I had to install Xbox App from MS Store itself to get it to download though.

For some reason it seems like Pre-Caching on Ultra results in a smoother experience and higher FPS than lower settings. At least in iFlySimX's video. So don't be worried about turning it up and experiment with it.

Great glad to hear it,

I gave up reading the other thread about the upgrade lol

Ultra is a pleasure!! Amazing setting addition

On my old GTX980Ti, this setting to Ultra and everything is liquid smooth using Track IR. Looks like you need a real old plonker PC to need anything lower than Ultra but time will tell….

That's weird. Is it the same with all aircraft?

ESSA seems fine here at 4k high settings. FBW A320 cockpit or external view

Ultra is a little stuttery though.

I am scared to do this update LOL

Don't be... it works just fine after the update.

I suppose this setting is also affected by your other settings though. If you have everything Ultra on 4K and this is also Ultra, might be enough to cause stutters.

Thanks Bert,

Had an extra day off today so wanted to capitalize on my flying opportunity lol

Will do the upgrade later.

Does anyone know if it is ok to leave the Navigraph data folder in the Community folder when updating? I have everything else removed via the addon linker

Has anyone done experimenting in VR yet?  The terrain pre caching option is not available in the VR options screen, but I see there are entries in the user.cfg file.  I have not had time to test manually updating the entries in that file to see if they have any effect in the sim

Been flying for about 1.5 hours since the update and so far it's superb.

I'm on a 3700X with a 2070 super and 32MB 3600 Ram with most settings on high or ultra and with pre caching on ultra it's looking and performing well. If I was being ultra critical I'd say the AA on the AI generated buildings is still a bit off but overall I'm impressed.

Now just waiting for my addon planes to be updated

Yes ultra is too much for my 2080S. It's playable but I prefer to drop down to high settings and have a smoother experience.

Specifically on the terrain pre-caching this looks like an option that can simply be left at ultra no matter what other settings you use, at least for an 8 Gig VRAM card.

Intel Core i5-12600k, Nvidia RTX 4070 Super, 128 Gigs.

It's almost unplayable for me as long as I'm on the ground, as soon as my wheels are up in the air everything's buttery smooth, on the ground it's a slide show, especially when panning in external view, even at lowest settings,  something must be terribly wrong with my game as I apparently is alone with this problem, so I guess it's just reinstalling.

EDDF now has very blue/green taxiways and runways, looks weird
